Interested to know what it sounds like after the change to 500k.
God I LOVE these basses. AS SOON as I scrounge up the money to buy a P bass or some type I’m doing so.Being the Fender guy that I am, from what I’ve read and heard these are similar but like a turbo version of a Fender. I want one so BAD
I see on this site people with too many Sadowsky basses. I think I can make a great effort and I am willing to adopt one. Someone volunteer?

I did this on a previous bass, and while it did help, it's not like a huge night/day change. Roger, at least used to, also have another set of Singles available, which I personally feel sound better... less earthy/mid forward... a bit sweeter and more balanced to my ears... which might translate to clearer highs to you... dunno. But it might be worth asking him about the other brand based Singles if they're still available.
Vic, I changed the pot last night, and yes it made a difference, a little brighter...more mids to my ear.

Yes, the other singles the shop installs are made by SD.
I just A/B’d the SD’s and Nordys in the 5 string flavor on a WL5 a year and some back. To my ear, the Nordys were more polite and balanced; while the SD’s had a lot more lower mid grind going on, which I tend to associate with the Jazz Bass. Prefs would kind of line up with the tone you are going for.
For awhile we did a dumbed-down version of the treatment your band did for "Practica..." off "Last Day In Paradise".
WOW, that's literally exactly the opposite my experiences... I wonder if the wind changed? The thing that shy'd me away from the Nords is they seemed way too forward in the low mids, which seemed to me, to kinda' take away from the high end coming through. Don't get me wrong, I love Carey's stuff, just at least in the Sadowsky J's, I've always been a big fan of the SD based singles myself. YMMV!!
Likewise. Other than Sadowsky pickups, SD SJB2’s have been my single coil choice for 3 decades or so. Alright guys, when I called the shop today to check on my build that should be completed in a few weeks, I ordered NYC single coils for my Metro Vintage 5, let's see what we can do for my mid range!

I don't think it can be good to have more than 2?
I'm willing to adopt a "rescue bass" provided it's from a smoke-free home.
