I bought a NYC PJ5 from Bass Northwest back in 2000. This was prior to the Metro series coming out. It was Olympic White with Tort PG, EBONY fingerboard, headstock painted to match the body. Best bass I ever owned. I sold it when I gave up playing bass for several years.
I recently purchased a 2008 Metro PJ5 from a fellow TBer and am hoping it gets delivered to me by the end of the week. Nice to be back in the Sadowsky family!

hi Michael, I remember you from back then. Your PJ and the write ups you did on it are the reason I dove into the Sadowsky pool with total abandon, ultimately owning 8 Sadowskys. Never more than 3 at a time tho ha! Yours was the first PJ I recalled from the Sadowsky shop. When you stopped playing I always wondered what happened to your PJ. I’ve owned 4s, 5s, NYC Metro yadda yadda. I’m now down to a single Sadowsky Metro PJ Oly White. My fav color after sunburst. Its one of my number 1s....rotated with an old fender P
Cool that someone remembers me from that far back. I know I sold the Sadowsky, don't remember who I sold it to... someone on TB I'm pretty sure.

Ah, so that is you. When I read "gave up playing bass for several years." I was wondering. As I recall, you were always super helpful and a valuable contributor. Nice to see you back, and it's good to hear that you're playing bass again.
Yes I remember BGRA...even the earliest version of it, which was very basic, and was early web stuff. But it had a lot of good info in it. I had resumed bass playing in early 90s and was reading all reviews I could find. Your review of your Sadowsky PJ was very well done and largely started me on the Sadowsky road.
Sorry, too old and brain is fading. What is/was BGRA?

I am a new member to the Sadowsky club. I am loving the Sadowsky tone. I am almost embarrassed to say I but the other day I actually shed a tear when playing an old Lou Reed tone it sounded so in the mix. How is it possible a bass can sound so spot on. So I just bought another one. Thanks Roger!
I shed a tear too now and then.....when I think about my old Sadowsky that I foolishly sold. It was made for Dave Boonshoft and I bought it from Jimmy Coppola who used to have a shop just below Roger Sadowsky in the same building. Extremely light and a beautiful top.
I'll repeat this story because it's worthwhile...
When I was working for the local music store one of the local pros hauled in 3 or 4 of his gigging instruments to sell on consignment. I think it was 2002 and these were the best of the best at the time. I'll not disclose the brand but most everyone here would agree.
I asked him why he was liquidating his arsenal. "I bought a Sadowsky." That's all he said and it stuck with me. 14 years later I discovered why.
