Club Sadowsky!!!

I’ve been following the thread for a few years now, but guess I never joined the club! Would love a number please. Here is my 2009 Sadowsky Metro UV70 5 string. Serial #M2421. I bought it used about 3 years ago and it’s been my main working Bass ever since. (Here’s hoping I can work again sometime!). It came with single coils installed and the original HC pickups included also. I’ve switched them

back and forth a few times, I really like the HC, but I’m pretty much settled on the singles. Love this bass!

That is my next bass purchase is going to be a J bass like this one. Love everything about that bass.

yep. if you can deal with the extra noise, which doesn't always mean a lot, the tonal benefits are VERY real... at least to me. congrats, great bass!

Gorgeous bass. I JUST bought another MV5 that is currently on its way to me. Strongly considering putting a set of single coils in it. The last Sadowsky I had was a WL5 and I really like the bark you can get with them.

I put Ulyate single coils in my MV5...love them to death! Howard’s one of the best!

Interesting. What did they give you that wasn’t there before?

The bass had the stock hum canceling pickups and I wanted to try some single coils in a Sadowsky. Howard owed me a set of pickups from a previous trade deal, and offered to make these for me, so it was a no-brainer...

He did a “70’s” wind on mine, and I really like the openness of the tone. Plus, they generally seem to have more bite and clarity overall. Plus...I was just used to single coils from previously owned Fender Jazz basses and prefer them a bit out of habit.

Nothing wrong with the factory HC pups though...I could have easily lived with them forever without feeling shortchanged...bass sounded great with either!

Interesting. That sounds like they would really sit well in a mix. I'm assuming the 70's wind is slightly underwound.

Hey Mark, I think you asked for it before, not long ago. You already had #557.

I’ve been interested in trying his “tic tac” pickups. Interested to hear what you like about the single coil j’s too...

I just got a set of Ulyate single coils in soapbar cases off the classifieds yesterday that I put into my parts bass (reject Sadowsky body, Sadowsky preamp, USACG neck)... they sound really nice and are fairly quiet. Liking them a lot so far.
