It was in the Sadowsky case, and then your typical box with some bubble wrap. It's over 21 years old, so wasn't sure if it was a shipping issue, or a lacquer drying out like Todd mentioned.

Doesn't sound like it would be a shipping issue... unless you live at one of the poles.

Were you afforded any closeup pics of the neck? I seriously doubt it's going to affect playability... definitely dont want it going any further. Just want you to be happy with your purchase, that's all!

I’ve ordered a few different sets of strings to try on my new Satin bass. I always use GHS Nickel Balanced on my P bass, but I’m not digging them as much on this Sadowsky. I liked the sound of the SS Blue Label strings that came on the bass, but I’m not big on the feel of stainless steel strings. So I’ve ordered a set of Sadowsky Blue Label nickels, GHS Round Core Bass Boomers, DR Pure Blues, and Dunlop Super Bright nickels to try on the bass. Should be some fun experimenting when they all come in.

Update: I have DR Pure Blues (45-130) on now, and they’re awesome! The GHS Round Core Boomers were good, but not quite what I was looking for. I still have a few others I can try, but the DR Pure Blues sound and feel so good, I’m gonna keep them on until they need changing.

I’ve been searching, and can’t find an answer to this question. Are the Sadowsky (Japanese) Metro bridges and NYC bridges both made of the same material? I know they’re the same design, but I wasn’t sure if the materials are the same, or if one is cast and the other machined.

I recently got a RNDI to use with my FOH and IEM gigs and I'm very impressed. Those Di's are worth every penny and makes everything sound better.

I've been looking for a decent collaboration platform for remote playing with my band and others - i.e., virtual jams-- but don't know of anything workable. I've seen this four screen format in some other recordings, which was a DAW of some kind... curious about how you've put this together. TIA.

We all did our parts from our separate homes. We played to a backing track as a guide and recorded our parts and video. I used my iPad as one camera, and MacBook for the other camera, while recording the Bass into GarageBand. Then uploaded our individual files to Dropbox. Our keyboard player mixed the audio in Logic Audio, and edited it all together in Final Cut Pro.
The singer did all the backing vocals himself so those were overdubs.
