Club Sadowsky!!!

That looks a lot like my old bass!! Did you pick it up here on the classifieds? The yellow spots on the PG right next to the P pup just about match my old one...

Edit: If it is... I loved that bass. Used it on a couple tours. Great reggae bass. There a pic in an Irie magazine spread with me playing it.

Would love to see the pic from the magazine story if you have it. It’s always cool to see where my basses have been before!

My new Satin came in earlier today. I’m trying to figure out which strings came on it.

All NYC Basses are shipped with Blue Label Stainless Steel strings. 5 String Standard: 45-65-85-105-130

I'm ashamed. I lost my brand new blue Sadowsky beanie. I switched jobs recently and I think I may have put it down out in the production shop, and then left it there. Stooooopid. Time to place an order...maybe some new accessories while I am at it.

Well...if you’re going to lose something with a Sadowsky logo on it...things could have been worse! :)

Look at the bright side, it’s an acquisition oppo!!

Plus, we’ve all lost hats. It’s just a hat thing.

I found My new beanie!!!! I can rest now. ☺️ Doesn’t mean I won’t be going to the store to buy more.

True that! Could have been a pack of unobtainium standard-gauge Blue Label flats.

And so happy that it turned up after all. Now you can be the Cat in the Hat! :hyper:

Roger Sadowsky, Seeing that Fender is discontinuing offering Ash on their production models, and I know of one boutique builder that is following suit. Will Sadowsky continue to offer Ash bodies in the new Metro ( I know Expresses are Ovankol) and NYC basses?

Just to clarify, ME bass bodies are to be Okoume, not Ovangkol.

I’ve ordered a few different sets of strings to try on my new Satin bass. I always use GHS Nickel Balanced on my P bass, but I’m not digging them as much on this Sadowsky. I liked the sound of the SS Blue Label strings that came on the bass, but I’m not big on the feel of stainless steel strings. So I’ve ordered a set of Sadowsky Blue Label nickels, GHS Round Core Bass Boomers, DR Pure Blues, and Dunlop Super Bright nickels to try on the bass. Should be some fun experimenting when they all come in.

Sounds like a lot of work, young Padawan (light saber reference). Agree with the great tone and not-great feel of steels. Await your report.

I love the dunlop super bright nickel these days. They have a lower tension than the sadowsky blue strings which is a good thing for me.
