Black hardware - yes, but that bass needs tort.

I’m curious, exactly how would you plan to go black hardware on it though? From my experience, the shop has been extremely reluctant to let go of a bridge, even for an NYC. I tried to get an 18mm bridge for my NYC and got nothing but the run-around. Eventually, I was told to contact Roger directly, but never got a response.

I haven't contacted Roger yet about buying the hardware, This could be an issue, or at least prohibitively expensive. Bass shipped with a parchment guard, I changed to Tort about 15min after opening the box from the NYC Shop. I'm mainly was just thinking about it, seeing what others think.

Yeah, I definitely like the tort better. Perhaps you’d have better luck than I did regarding the hardware. Everything other than the bridge is easy to source, but I was fairly disappointed in the response, or lack thereof, I got just trying to get an 18mm bridge for my NYC Will Lee 5.

Sadowsky doesn't manufacture hardware, or strings.

If need be, simply find out who makes the part, or string, and buy their identical, or very similar replacement available-to-the-public version.

It's probably already been mentioned in this thread who makes what.

id love to see aged pearl on that one. I have a shoreline gold that I’m considering making the same change. While I like tort a lot I don’t really like it with these colors as I think it makes it look kind of dirty, or maybe dull is a better description.

Hipshot makes the bridge, but you’re not going to get it directly from them.

Personally I think the Sadowsky shiny chrome hardware looks really sharp against the body color, beautiful!

I almost need the entire bridge mounted a 1/4” closer to the pickups, to put the saddles closer to the middle. I know I could play with higher action, and not need the saddles that far out, but higher action has never felt good to my hands.

Technically there's no problem for the saddles to go over the edge of the bridge as long as the screws sit safe inside the grooves. Your photo shows enough space available. If it bothers you aesthetically the bridge could be relocated a bit forward. 1/4" forward, the old (plugged) holes will stay invisible.

Easier to get a wider rather than move it, and probably better for resale value.
