At this point I’m going to leave My CAO 5-21 alone, just toying with Ideas, this happens when you are cooped up to long.

I like your idea.

A white-flavored guard would also work for me (I think someone mentioned 'creamsicle').

Main thing is, I'm fussy about tort: I only like it on a few finishes... vintage bursts, mostly.

also keep in mind he's using it with a tube head, so the tighter low end of the sealed cabs works specifically well with the natural big bloom of tubes. i'd probably never use a sealed cab with a solid state head, but always use one with a tube head.

I agree with your comments in general, but please note that this depends on the solid state head. The Aguilar DB750/751 famously loves the Bergantino sealed NV series cabs, and there are other similar examples.

Thanks and I concur. Conversely there’s ( to me) an airy responsiveness in lighter Sadowsky basses but I want my bass notes to crack concrete. So many times being the tuba player in the back during Wagner/Beethoven, ready for my ginormous tone to disrupt all that beautiful orchestration with my sonic meathammer
