BINGO....my son keeps referring to me as the GOAT! I was waiting to see how long it would take for someone to get it!I get it-it's a GOAT, as in "Greatest of all time."

Under certain conditions any neck can feel sticky, but I agree, the satin Sadowsky neck is amazing. IME it gets a bit more sticky over time as playing wear brings it from satin to gloss.
Vic mentioned steel wool to "re-satinize", and I've read that Scotchbrite pads will also accomplish this, but I haven't bothered to try either on my "glossified" Sadowskys because I still like them.
While we're on the subject: I've mentioned this before, but once the nitro started wearing away in spots from my 2005 P5 (the one in my avatar), I took some 300 grit sandpaper and largely took the finish off most of the back of the neck. That was to simulate the feel of well-played vintage Fenders where the nitro wore off. It'll take awhile longer before my Sadowsky neck gets as grungy-smooth as those ancient Fenders, but it's getting there, and I love the result. I'm not saying anyone else should do it (this is the bass I'll be buried with; I do not care about resale value)... I'm only mentioning it as an option.
I have absolutely no doubt that there is any problem with the finish, I just never played or owned a nitro instrument.Might be just a question of perception - there's no way that Sadowsky would let an uncured finish on an instrument out to a customer.
Well FedEx showed up remarkably early. I’ll report once i get some time with it. But so far so good. My first NYC model. Snagged one of the satins that was recently listed. Was a bit worried about the pickups as ive never owned soap bars. They are great.
