i admit i haven't tried this, but i don't think i agree. Roger's pickups are also custom wound, and i think a big part of that custom is to tune to his preamps.

@Vic, I thoroughly respect your opinion. “Close to” is my way of hedging. A F**der sounds pretty awesome to me through the preamp.

I love my Precision through my Sadowsky SBD-1 preamp/DI. It just works.

Will NYC-made Sadowsky basses for sale still be posted at Sadowsky.com? I haven't seen any on there lately. Wasn't sure if this is a result of the Warwick situation.

Couple of suggestions:
Try a gateway drug. Mine was a used MIJ Metroline MV4.

I agree with this very much. The Japan MV4 I started with was absolutely fantastic and the NYCs I've had since then were lighter but not dramatically better. The Japan Metro MV4 is a great instrument.

I think roger said they’re not going to build stock instruments in NY anymore, just customs. Order what you want!

Warwick is another chapter. Have nothing to do with NYC. I think Roger's crew had decreased and less basses are building monthly, mainly focused on custom orders.

Your post got me to pull my SBP-2 preamp pedal out and I just plugged my new-to-me G&L LB-100 into it. Oh, my! Very nice!!

Ellis suggested the black pearl dots on ebony...hard to get a good pic, but wow....they’re stealthy awesome up close!!!

I love this view behind my desk. Of course the question is if I should get another Sadowsky.

Since I couldn’t find any new sadowsky blue label, I put a set of Dunlop Super Bright Nickels on my German sunburst MetroLine. I have to say the Dunlop is a perfect alternative to the blue labels. Low tension, great warmth and controlled highs.

I have the same G&L and SBP-2. While I originally bought the LB100 to have a passive P it does sound incredible with the Sadowsky pedal.

Noticed that the Sadowsky prewired 4-knob onboard preamps haven't been available in the Sadowsky online store for a while.

Does anyone know when or if these will be available in the US again?

Or, is the best option to order one from Germany? If so, has anyone here done so?

If yes, how much is the customs fee, and how is the Warwick Sadowsky quality and sound compared to the US circuit?

This might be the first time I'm posting something from my current band. Didn't know our band leader was working on this video and he decided to use the mix from one of our practices.

Not my typical signal chain for recording but my Verdine White always shines. Verdine is set to 75% P and VTC just under 50% with slight bass and treble boosted using a Nordymute into a Zoom B3n with an EBS style patch.

Not our typical style music but you've gotta have 1 country feel song in the toolkit!
