My SBP-2 with my Fender custom shop passive P and J is simply terrific. The CS basses have lovely pickups that match well to the Sadowsky preamp. That is my current 4-string formula. The Sadowsky NYC Satin PJ-5 is my fiver solution.

My USA Geddy sounds pretty darn solid passive. SBP-2 “tightens it up” a bit but not a big change. But the LB-100 (Sadowsky Blue Label flats) really sounds great with that pre-amp. Really liking it and thinking that’ll be my go to with that bass, which I bought to play passive but the improvement (to my ear) is noteworthy.

FYI: There is a 2013 MIJ Metro MS4 in Mesquite on FB marketplace for $1485. Not a P bass, but it looks to be a locally-available good deal!

First let me say this , I have no connection what so ever to this dealer , just thought some of you maybe interested but anyone looking for a MIJ Metro I was on the New Jersey Guitar and Bass website earlier today and they still have some in stock on their site , they also show the sn#s so you should be able to date the builds easy enough.
I love my Sadowsky outboard pre, so good with a passive P or J. Always on with a tiny boost of lows and everything snaps into place. Great for festival type stages,

I just received my Sadowsky 4 knob on board preamp from Thomann. I paid $166 usd and $27 shipping. It showed up at my house in 3 days from Germany! I was expecting the same preamp that I got from the NYC shop, before Warwick got involved, but this preamp is different. It is prewired, but does require soldering. The MEC pots are nice and smooth. My Schecter Diamond J-5 with Quarter Pounders sounds amazing now! Highly recommended!

I just picked up a 2014 NYC WL5 whose serial number is just a few off from my 2014 NYC RV5, so that's pretty cool.
It has a really nice top, plays out well, and should be a good addition to my tool box. Pics below, I'm pretty stoked.

GREAT looking bass, Chef. But, I gotta say that your losing that MV5 seems a bit like the passing of an era.

11 years and a ton of gigs on that bass. Yeah, it's a little sad letting it leave, for sure, but, I just can't keep both.
