Any single cut users with the Will Lee preamp boost module and super J humbucker noticed them having significantly lower output when compared to other NYC's or other basses in general? Mine with the preamp in or out is really low output even with a fresh battery, pups are all set to a similar height.

This video drove me and helped to decide which Sadowsky I'd choose... can't afford more so I've bought a Modern5-24... it is what I mean killer sound truly...

But... I'm thinkin about swapping my Blade for a MV5... (Every band really loves my Blade's sound, playing for 21 years... so it'll be a hard decision...)

And I experienced, do not attach much importance for several players several instruments' sound... the real sound comes by your fingers, no matter how many zeros written at the price...

Your studio session sounded great, man. Well done. What you recorded is exactly what I wanted to "grow into" when I ordered my 5-24. I'd say you had killer sound.

@deepestend helped me with several videos when I was on the fence, and I'm thankful for that and for what I got. I'd really like to mix mine in more at church, but I'm not officially back yet and for volume/DI/EQ/etc, don't want to stray yet from the Rickenbacker they "know." I did do some recording over the holidays and was really pleased with the one track where the 5-24 was absolutely perfect. The rest were a 50/50 mix of my usual Ric and this MV5E I picked up used this past fall.

Yes, I‘ve seen it on the Warwick page. I actually like the masterbuilt version less. I do not like block inlays very much. But nonetheless, the limited editions for this year are NICE!

I believe that all Sadowsky onboard preamps can be switched to passive mode that does not require a battery, but I'm not 100% certain there are no exceptions so consider this a bump.

all my Sadowsky basses work with no battery as long as you have it switched to passive mode. just have to adjust your amp to add more gain, as active mode has more output than passive.

No battery or dead battery? Meaning, do you physically have to remove it from the circuit?
