Club Sadowsky!!!

View attachment 4561118 Hi
I’m new here … pretty much a beginner (6 months into playing for the first time) bought a fender and then decided to treat myself for the longer term and bought myself a sadowsky metroline modern J Ltd edition. I wanted to sign up here to get access to the brilliant resource and browsed this bit of the forum to find a few others having trouble (like me) with their rear covers. Mine is not grounding properly and I’ve sent pics and video to Warwick. All helpful so far so hope to get sorted soon. I’ve only had the bass (which I love) a couple of months and for a pretty expensive bass I’d hoped for better. Anyway, I only need to learn to play now:)
Welcome to the journey! Like you, I was a late starter and didn't begin playing bass when I was a teenager (or in my 20s, or even in my 30s) like a lot of folks. I did something similar. I wondered into a Guitar Center for some drum sticks and I picked up a Squier Affinity bass on a whim. In less than a years time, I purchased a brand new $2500 bass. My wife thought I was nuts, but my rationale behind that purchase was that it was an investment...not an investment for future monetary gain, but an investment in myself to ensure I'd stick with it. It's a lot harder to drop a hobby after you've sunk that type of money in it lol. Before I knew it, that hobby translated into jam sessions and stage performances.

That bass looks so cool! Bet it sounds great. They will take care of you with the cover.

I like that SE Modern 4 string. But, why do they use chrome screws with a black string retainer???

Hey Gary, You're #586. Welcome to the Sadowsky club! You won´t find a better place to hang out. Lots of Sadowsky knowledge around, including the man himself.

Super P / Super J (far left) is the new addition! All NYC except the far right....Metro. Oh, and my physical therapy neck in the middle. Needed this after I broke my left wrist 4 years ago. Roger was kind enough to send this neck to take to my PT appointments. Helped a lot! Thank you!

Now don't be negative with the black & chrome hardware combo. I do have a black tuner kit...if I should like to change it out.

Wow BluesyCat! That is a beautiful bass. Please do share your impressions after you've had some time with it. 20 fret? My favorite. Mismatched bridge/tuners? That's personality. Lots of possible combinations with those pickups. Enjoy!
