Club Sadowsky!!!

Could we puh-leeze see some Sadowsky bass pics already?? :D
I’ve owned ‘a few ;)’ NYC’s…this is no question, my favorite. The stable will inevitably grow (and shrink), but this one stays…

LOL. I took my dual P concept to Roger first, but he politely declined. I totally understood... it's pretty nutty! Works for me, though. :)

Yeah, Lee must have been out of his mind!
Equipment
Sklar's favorite instrument is an electric bass assembled from parts of various basses, consisting of a Charvel P-Bass body, Precision Bass neck which has been shaved down to the proportions of a Fender Jazz Bass and fitted with mandolin wire frets and two sets of reversed position EMG Precision Bass pickups. It has been used on nearly all of his recordings and he refers to it as the "Frankenstein bass".[6]

Some pics of my beloved Sadowsky's:

I no longer have the 25th Anniversary Modern. Loved, loved, loved the bass, but I have found that this particular pickup placement just doesn't trip my trigger.

Plus, the P/J 5 just fits my preferences and the "ideal tone in my head" so much better.

The WL4 still just kills, too:

Still, I wouldn't mind getting that Modern back in the stable:

I bought the Modern from you and it was a very, very nice bass! Sold it and wish I had it back, but like you, I seem to gravitate toward a JJ or PJ tone.

i wonder who owns it now.

same for me, i bought a fantastic modern from ken jung years ago, loved it, played insanely well, but just kept going back to my j basses and such, so sold it.

I sold it to @Joebone who sold it to @fbenitz | TalkBass.com, but I wonder where it is now.

Guilty as charged, and as far as bass gear goes, my dumbest move ever! I started in with a really cool band doing mix of Latin rock, reggae, cumbia, brazilian and other things, a lot of it with a folklorical feel, and I wanted to get more thump and purr - a more organic sound. What I should have done is tried flatwound strings, or installed Nordsrtand Big Splits, or both of the above! Oh well...
