Club Sadowsky!!!

Very nice,

I have observed that there is no neck plate and the lower cutaway is deeper on the back of the bass.

Anybody know if this is going to be standard on all Sadowsky basses or only on some models/configs? and if so: which ones? (Roger? Rob? TIA)

Hmmm.. my orange NYC Vintage 5 looks the same (no neck plate). I can't even remember if my other Sadowsky had a back plate:eek:! (it seems that my 2005 Vintage did though. Crazy... can't remember!) Hah! They were never in the same location at the same time.

The lower cutaway does look a touch deeper than my orange one. I assume that is the 4 string versus 5 string thing though.

Beautiful bass.

My new NYC 5 is plate-free as well. Also, the input jack is recessed. I'm assuming that these are standard on all Standards (4 & 5s) right now. Anyone know what the story is behind these changes (I kind of like the old input jacks)?

show us a pic please

Mine has the new recessed jack also. I think Roger said they had some trouble with the old plate jack, but can't remember. I did have to have my old style plate jack replaced after a number of years on my older Sadowsky... no big deal with that though. The new style works fine with angle or straight cables.

The lower cut-outs on those are yet another different thing, since one is the 'modern' body style used with the 24 fret instruments, and the other is the P style, which seems to be more closely modeled on the original Fender body design.

Yeah, the P bass came along for the ride in this photo:) It does have the neck plate. I was just talking about the J bass and the lack of a neck plate. It also has the recessed jack.

HI

RS decided a bit ago he was gonna make the neck plate obsolete on nyc's. Also, the recessed round jack has been standard for a while. Up until just recently, all 4 strings had a neck plate while the 5's didnt. Now all with be sans neckplate

Rob

Rob,

Your 98% right. Yes, we did change over to just Grommits & Neck bolts, but the Neck plate will be used on Ultra Vintage 4's.

The Recessed Jack plate is Standard on All Models (unless you request otherwise).

Rob,

That's good, I really like the neck plates on the classic designs.

And what about the deeper lower cutaway, I hope that the full size UV models keep the old style shape.

Fran,

Yeah, Roger thought the UV's should have the Neck Plate, for that Vintage feel/look.

As for the deeper cut away on the 4's....I know for the Downsized bodies it's a little more contoured, and the Neck Heel area is Rounded but I'm not to sure about the UV's. I have to ask the boss.

I'll get back to you on that.
