Club Sadowsky!!!

Thought I would bump this thread up with some new pics I took of my "old" Metro. I've really never had good pics of it.
I have a hard time capturing the grain of the front. It's not as pronounced as some i've seen, but still looks great.

Got this beauty back in '04 and still love her dearly. Every time I get some crazy notion to sell her and try something new, I end up plugging her in and coming to my senses:bassist:

This is pretty stupid of me to ask (never stopped me before) because it's so subjective and I'm on the fence here.

I was thinking of selling my Modern 4 and asking Roger to make a Vintage P-style with soapbar pups in Modern locations, assuming he'd oblige. More of a cosmetic and feel thing than a huge tonal change.

Here are poor mockups of what I had in mind with translucent white, anodized gold or similar looking pickguard but a maple board instead of the rosewood in the first pic:

Then again, looking at the pic above I think I need punch in the head.

Here's a shot of my setup from last nights gig.
A fresh set of Blue Label SS strings made for a fun night!

The Sadowsky performed admirably tonight (I wish I could say as much for my poor Hartke LH500 head - the fan is broken :crying:)

This was a new type of gig for me with a lot of blues, classic rock, and some newer country and I was so thankful I had my Sadowsky. I really don't think any other bass I've ever owned would have been able to cover down and fit in the mix so consistently like this bass did. And every single member of the band had to come over at one point or another during the night to comment on the tone and ask about the bass. Have I been living under a rock for the bast 10+ years? I can't believe all the years I wasted without having one of these basses.

By the way - is the best place to get the Blue Label strings from the Sadowsky shop? This bass came with a set of those strings and I really like them but it's time to replace them.

Hi

Yea, just buy them online straight from the Sadowsky website

As far as the difference between the two sets go here is my opinion

I feel the blacks are ever so slightly higher tension, brighter, and feel and sound slightly less "substancial"

The blues, to me, are slightly mellower in the high end, ever so slightly less tension. The sound "bigger" to me. Id suggest getting a set of each. Judge for urself. Both are very good sets, very musical strings
