Cool. I only play stainless steel strings so the comparison I made was a stainless one.

If you like mellower, go for the nickels Still lively but not as bright as the steels. Ive heard great things about the Blue nickels from many different players. Give 'em a shot

For sure. I go thru strings in a couple nights. Must be my body chemistry. Im not even a sweaty person. If not for that, Id prolly use nickels. Easier on your fingers, frets, etc. Just dont cut it for me, wish they did. You'll prolly love 'em

Hey Rob,
Please excuse my ignorant, "prolly" means probably?!
And, it's a great opportunity to ask your opinion. I just ordered a set of Nordstrand NJ4. I plan to put them on my MV4 Metro and leave the NYC std ash/morado with the HC. What do you say? I know you have them on your ash/morado.

I order mine directly at the Sadowsky online store.
It is cheaper than ebay and any other online dealer I have found so far.
And that includes shipping + any taxes.

btw: +1 on the Blue Nickels!

Yea, NJ4's sound great. With the bass passive, they sound very traditional to my ears. One guy who tried my bass called them "crude". LOL He was referring to their old Fender tone. Switch on the pre and you get a great fat single coil tone in concert with the great pre

Very nice,

I have observed that there is no neck plate and the lower cutaway is deeper on the back of the bass.

Anybody know if this is going to be standard on all Sadowsky basses or only on some models/configs? and if so: which ones? (Roger? Rob? TIA)

Thank goodness that's only a 4 string, or I'd be hurting from that pic a lot more! :D I've always loved the look of a nice trans blue with a maple board. Always. :)

Very nice indeed. You say a Modern 4. Actually this is a Standard 4. Modern is usually referred to the 24 fret models.
Love the color and the FB is outstanding.

It is a nice upgrade if that 4 bolt system is used rather than the neck plate. Overall Sweet Bass!!!
