Finalizing specs for my dream bass!

I’ll post details once I pay the deposit, but in the meantime, here’s a few fun pics from a recent gig with my Inca Silver Satin NYC!

I know a little trick.

You can get these small rubber o-rings from most hardware stores. Buy one that’s smaller than the diameter of the shaft of the pot, take the knob off, slide the o-ring down to the base of pot shaft and then press the knob down onto the o-ring and tighten it.

Having that rubber there pressing up against the knob and the base of the shaft will cause friction and loose pots usually stay put pretty good after doing that.

The lefty 5-string I was looking at is only like 8.3 lbs, so I’d bet on it.

I would think Sadowsky and sellers of Sadowsky basses would have there act together. I asked two sellers on Reverb if the new Special Editions they were selling have chambered bodies. One said it did the other said it didn't. I thought I could clear up the situation by going to the Warwick/Sadowsky website. No mention of a chambered body for any Metroline bass. However, the info for the Limited Edition states it has a chambered body. So I blame Sadowsky and uninformed sellers for this confusion. Also, the first Reverb seller listed the bass as a Limited Edition. And answered my question as it being chambered. After going to the Sadowsky website I informed him it was a Special Edition. I asked him to check his build sheet. He then messaged it was a Special. Sadowsky is dropping the ball by not providing a point of reference.

It’s true the details are hard to find in the published literature. But if you read this thread you’ll find Roger Sadowsky himself has confirmed all of the Warwick Sadowskys are chambered.

I have a MetroLine Will Lee 4-string on order I’m expecting in days. I’ve been told the average weight is low 8lbs. That’s not solely down to wood choice. It’s chambered.

Not to belabor the point, but all customers do not have access to talkbass nor should one have to wade through the talkbass website to find comments by Roger. Also, many buyers buy online and rely on sellers and the Sadowsky website for information prior to buying.

Sellers should provide the weight of the bass. If it's light enough for you, does it matter whether it's chambered or not?

To be fair: There has been quite a bit of discussion in this thread whether chambering alters (read: improves/worsens depending on your stance) the tone of the bass. And I do concur with @Larry Balara that the customer should be able to find such information through official channels.

In the US, dealers are also an official source for information about specs, chambering or not since Warwick doesn't sell direct here but through dealers. I'd say reach out to dealers to find out about this not just the Sadowsky website. Roger said here on Jan. 1st that all 2021 Metroline production will be chambered. Not sure about this year give we're past halfway.

Que? They are? Seems to me you could just contact Warwick USA directly if you so desired.

Edit: BTW, they have basses listed on the website for sale, too, though many show out of stock.

I'm not a buyer right now. Just adding info to help those looking for info. Contacting through this link is another source. For example I bet Jason from fret nation could always answer these questions as a Sadowsky dealer.
