Indeed...though I was more correcting your info for @Larry Balara since the official source, other than the NYC shop, in the US is still Warwick and they do sell direct :D Given he's received differing information from dealers, the point of my post was to contact Warwick directly :thumbsup:

By chance, does anyone have the build number on this? Or the specs for that matter. I’m trying to find the specs as I’m planning a NYC order soon. My main question is about the top. Is this swamp ash or alder and is there a tint (vintage perhaps) on it?

That there is swamp ash and it doesn't appear to have the vintage tint to me.

Edit: That looks to be NYC #7786 originally sold by Bass Club Chicago.

Here's the specs I found:

Just curious but does Sadowsky outsource their metroline pickups or do they produce in house now that production was moved to Warwick ?
If outsourced, anyone know who the mfg is and what model they are modeled after ?
Both single coil stacked and hum canceling

Warwick makes the pickups in-house for those basses, presumably based off their NYC counterparts, which in recent history, have been a mix of Duncan and Nordstrand pickups made to Sadowsky specs.

In NYC basses. Metroline basses were not chambered prior to the transition to Warwick from the shop in Japan.

Edit: Since I wasn’t clear - chambering had been around on NYC basses for quite some time. Though I’m not sure when it originated, I’m certain it was before 2012. I was attempting to point out that the 2012 number you found, did not apply to Metroline basses.

I’m sure it did, too, though I have no idea what date.

Given that the original inquiry was regarding Metrolines, I was only clarifying that the 2012 info that was posted would’ve pertained to NYC basses, not Metros. I’ve edited my post to clarify what I was trying to convey.

Taking a punt, that looks like Ash to me. It also looks like a Natural finish vs Vintage Natural which is typically darker but you should speak to someone at Sadowsky NYC.

I remember my first foray into Sadowsky basses being a 2008 Metro MV5. I recall reading a lot back then and remembering chambering being one of the Metro vs. NYC differences. After that, I had a 2006 NYC Modern that I'm almost certain wasn't chambered because it tipped the scale at a husky (for an NYC of the current time) 9.5 lbs. Figured chambering might've debuted somewhere in there or, that particular NYC - a 25th Anniversary model - just wasn't chambered for whatever reason.

I also noticed that on this model which is a German Metroline Will Lee 5 that both pups are 3.75 in length. This is Non standard Jazz length. So if I decide to change them in the future would there be any suitable replacements other than the branded pickups ?
