I like flats but since I play exclusively 5 string now, it’s really hard to find a good B string in a flat

B strings can be a challenge overall, and I agree that it's especially true with flats. I've been impressed with TI Jazz Flats, and as noted the Sadowsky Blue Labels. LaBella Low Tension Flats had excellent tonal consistency across all strings, low B included -- the tone wasn't really my thing, but of course that's a subjective call, some really like them.

Has anyone ever tried these out?

I'm looking to add a J bridge PU to my P bass with an Aguilar in it, but can't seem to find a matching AG single J bridge pickup anywhere so I'm looking at alternatives.

I got my used Sadowsky PJ5 a couple years ago and, although not flat wounds, the strings and tone still sound so good I’m not about to change strings and risk messing up what’s not broken.

Holy cow I just priced these. The Sadowsky 5 string set is crazy expensive. I thought Thomastiks were high

I’ve tried the new Blue 4 string set and I like it

I think I’ll get a 5 string set. I’m on my last set of the old Blacks.

MetroLine? Closer to 18 years than 18 months. They’re spectacular instruments and very highly regarded.

The earlier 2000 Modern models were better in my opinion, once they changed the pickup size they did not sound the same

They're amazing. I have two, both play incredibly well, take a tight setup (low action, minimal relief) and weigh low 8lb. I've compared to an NYC and the differences are small details, weight being the biggest difference. Build quality is top notch, and the savings vs NYC is large.

Question to those that own a German metroline, is the preamp in your bass TOO sensitive? I just got a new metroline 5 string and the controls are way too responsive, like 100% of the bass freq is in the first 5% of boost, also the VTC and the treble get super bright like within the first 10% of boost, I will be recording a video to show this to Warwick but just wanted to ask if any of you have the same thing happening to you? I have owned about 6 or 7 sadowskys (Japanese and Germans) and I have noticed it more on the last 3 Germans that I have owned

No. But I had an early Metro that was like that.

This is a modern 5 and my Jazz 5 is the same way so it is happening with dif Type of pickups. I recently sold a single cut but it was not like that other than low output

Neither my German Modern 5er nor my Will Lee 5er behave this way.
