So I did something today.
I would like to tell everyone, but please don’t judge.

I just flipped the red wires.
With almost 2 1/2 years playing, I just couldn’t pan without thinking.
It was never natural, so I did a thing.

I 've tried hard to cope Mr. Levin frenetic bassplaying and sound, not the same of course but it's slightly likely I think..... as the song as well, what was mixed and engineered by the drummer, a friend of mine (as the other members), Sándor Szántó at Retro Studio, Budapest Hungary. You do know that that mod just might lower the resale value...and if you ever sell that bass you will need to note that mod in the ad just to be up and up.

Well I also fixed my blend knob and said so in my ad... I'm wondering if that's why I haven't sold it yet. :/
EDIT: just realized that in the US basses there isn't even soldering involved.

I've done that with mine as well - except my NYC is old enough that it doesn't have the quick connects to make it super simple like that. First thing I did to the German Metro MJ5 I got a few months back, too. Both were solder connections, but still, not a difficult swap at all on either. My brain just doesn't process the "Sadowsky way" naturally.

No worries... I do it on all my Sadowskysssss... Lol
I didn't used any effect pedal, only have a cheap crap one, never use it. I sent a raw signal to the mixer guy, who found that plugin for it, unfortunately don't know what was that.
My wife's car is an Audi - most all the knobs and dials work "backward" to what I'm used to/expect from driving Toyotas and Hondas most of my life. I'm not going to call it "German engineering" any more, I'll just say they work the "Sadowsky way!"
Another joke that I'm the only one who will get - I really am turning into my dad!

Both mine have the pan knobs "corrected". The other way was never intuitive for me and the other way I don't have to think about it; it's the direction the top of the knob is going.
I'm thinking Apple was inspired by Sadowsky when they decided the "Natural" way of scrolling was the opposite from how we all learned.
Looks like we need to start a "Club Sadowsky with corrected pan pot".
I guess it’s time to share this again. I had a ton of time on my hands back in 2020.

Using a pan pot and a one Volume pot on a Jazz style is more of modern thing.
Off course, you did not have that choice on a traditional Jazz Bass.
They did not have a pan control, but they had two separate Volume controls...one for each pickup.
It was hard to fade out on a tune when you had two volume knobs (rather than one Pan and one Volume pot)

Let's not ignore the logic - twiddling clockwise increases the treble component, across all controls (Except the active bass). I sometimes get confused due to playing several different basses, but it truly makes sense, and would become second nature if I only played Sadowsky. Extra credit for older, engineering types - what's with the Polish Notation that I understand to have modified order of operations on the original Texas Instruments pro-level calculators?

Well, I appreciate taking the time to record a video explaining how you (and Roger) see the controls (although saying "that's ridiculous" is a bit harsh). Both logics make sense depending on the reference point. None is ridiculous.
When I learned my way around a bass, I established that the center detent on the blend knob is pointing up towards the pickups. The knob has a marking on it, and when it is centered, the marking is pointing up, meaning they are blended 50/50. When I turn the knob clockwise, the marking on the knob points to the neck pickup, meaning it has more power. When I turn the knob counter clockwise, the marking points to the bridge pickup. You just happen to have your reference point, the center detent, pointing down.
It is worth noticing that the Sadowsky preamps don't have the knob markings pointing up or down, they point towards the neck of the bass, along the axis of the control line. That means that you're turning the knob clockwise, the knob marking is actually pointing down towards the ground (in playing position), and counter clockwise is pointing up towards you. So if you can easily see down as the bridge pickup and up as the neck pickup, good for you, no mods needed in your Sadowsky.
All this made me wonder... have you modded other basses to work like your Sadowsky, since this orientation works better for you? I'd go crazy if I had each bass with a different config.
