With that said, my German Metro MJ5 is a fantastic bass otherwise; it’s the one I’m playing the most now. At only 7.9 pounds, it’s extremely comfortable to play.

I have owned and traded 5 German metros and I have noticed a few tuners that stick and or are not smooth. One kept detuning the g string, hopefully they can offer replacements

I sold my other basses so now just have a few of my #1 brand. Sadowsky! :D

Aside from my 3 Sad’s…I enjoy Fbass (BN6 + an AC6 build in the works)… Sadowsky doesn’t make a 6 (yet?), so there’s that. I’m happy with Fbass though…imo, they also make a great bass!

I’ve had a variety of basses including three Roscoes, but I gravitate back to EBMM when not playing my Sadowsky basses. Currently, it’s a BFR Stingray 5HH that’ll get the call if there’s not a Sadowsky hanging from my strap. One of the reasons I really like the new Sadowsky MJ5 basses - really similar in feel to EBMM with the narrower string spacing, neck, and nut.

My SC Sadowsky is my #1 5 string.

My Suhr jazz(with Sadowsky pre) is my main 4 string now.
Very close second is my CS Jazz.
But I have a wonderful PBass that, depending on my mood is in the mix for 1or2.

My all time #1 is my old 70’s Jazz I’ve had since I was like 20. It’s “retired “ now because it’s so damn heavy.

My Sadowsky is definitely my #1 (at least until I get more Sadowskys) but my “backup” for wont of a better word is either my Warwick Star Bass II or my ‘72 Fender P.

Of course, I pretty much never touch them at a show because my Sadowsky is perfect to me, but the others are there too…:D

I don’t really have a #1.

I’ve got this Sadowsky, which is really the nicest Jazz Bass I’ve ever played.

Then I’ve got a handful of Fenders: a P, a parts J4, a 62 J, a parts J5, and an 07 Am Deluxe J5; all of which either have the Sadowsky preamp onboard or outboard in the signal chain. So, I am never far from Roger’s sound, when it comes to FSO instruments. They all sound FANTASTIC.

FWIW, the ca.2007 era Am Deluxe J5 neck has IME the most Jazz Bass feel I’ve ever experienced in a 5 string. By a long shot. Fender actually got that one right; though in keeping with their marketing acumen, they mothballed it. I presume the design is somewhere in the same warehouse with the Lost Arc.

Other than my Sadowskys it's MusicMan Stingrays for me. I have a 1978 pre-EB and a more recent Stingray Classic 5. Really not interested in anything else.

I have one of those 07 Am DLX Vs as well and it really is good. Just a little too heavy for regular rotation

My #1 is easily my Sadowsky 5-21 NYC and my backup is my Warwowsky 5-21 ... I hardly ever play the backup for full gigs anymore.

However, I do have a seafoam green F Bass VF5 PJ that gets a ton of playtime, especially when I've picked up more standard tuning fill-in gigs, as my main gig drops a half-step.

At home, I play my NYC M5-24 a ton ... haven't found the right gig for it yet. And the same goes for my ZON Sonus Elite 5 fretless.

And I have a couple of really nice Fender basses that get some play time.

I play every bass I own at least once a week and make sure the neck is properly adjusted and it's in tune.

As a lefty, I've managed to gather a nice little collection over the years, but I'll be letting some go soon to make room for the new super-deluxe Sadowsky 5-21 NYC that I have on order.
