Club Sadowsky!!!

Quick question... going back to the Sadowsky flats discussion, after we talked about it I realized the B is tapered in that set just like the rounds. I don't think I know of any other string vendor that does a tapered flatwound. Does anyone else here know of one or more? If not, I wonder if that makes them a lot harder to manufacture, and maybe even the main reason for the higher price than other flats.

Hi Foal. Hope all is well. Yep, I did a gig with the Ashdown and was completely underwhelmed. Changed the driver to an Eminence DeltaLite and it is now a great combo. The Ashdown driver was very light, only 150w (for a 300w amp!) and 4 ohms. The Eminence is 300w at 8ohms and blows the Ashdown driver into the weeds, even with the impedance difference. Also I can now run an extension cab if I ever need it. Did a gig with the new set up and it rocked!

150W/4ohm is a kidtoy for a 300W amp... it eats that for breakfast. Before it can fry it... :D

My NYC WL5-22 (Mango, Okoume, BR, sc’s)…love my Single Cut 5’s, but this one’s pretty special

Are RDS basses welcome in this group? I'm just waiting on a used but near mint Olympic White 21VJ4 to be delivered.

Yes, but this is more taylored to higher end variants. So there may not be a lot of information here (yet).

but no talking about Ashdown amps…..
;)

I think anything even remotely related to the esteemed Mr. Roger Sadowsky should be welcomed here. The RSD instruments are definitely worthy of consideration and conversation, IMHO. I’m just hanging around waiting for the headstock logo change, LOL. Now that I’ve transitioned back to 4-strings, I need a fretless that says “Sadowsky”, in bold lettering, on the headstock. Waiting patiently…:)

Hello, I ordered a Sadowsky Singlecut 24/5 modern in January at Sadowsky Germany. The expected delivery date is 31.5.23- much time to read as much of Sadowsky Club as possible, starting at page one.
I have learned so much about wood combinations, preamp settings and the Sadowsky Magic!
And on top of all this you get first hand informations from Mr Sadowsky himself …
Thank you all for this enormous spread of knowledge.
This is the bass I will receive…

Play this in good health! Welcome to the club my friend.

Thank you Jerry! As far as I know one gets his club number after receiving the order? Or am I wrong? Is it still Fran Diaz doing this?

As far as I recall, you have to wait until delivery and post a photo. Sorry, not certain who is handling the issuance of numbers. But for all intents and purposes, if you read all 3,058 pages of this thread then you are good to go.:bassist:
