My NYC Jazz 4 is very similar to the below SWR bass (sorry about the pink strings). It is SN 9XX (973, I think) and was made in 1992.
The SWR bass MUST be from the mid-late 80's, bit mid 90's. A bit expensive but a great bass that is likely really rare.

few words about my first day with Sadowsky...
first, visit at the airport cause my friend brought the instrument to Poland. he was fortunatelly in NYC in time I was ordering my M5. he paid missing amount and took the bass as a personal luggage. cool guy isn't he...
Delta Airline didn't load my bass on time and Sadowsky was in Poland three days later. three days later... can You imagine the state of my mind
but finally yesterday I got It. It was my work time so I took the bass to my office. unpacking. cardboard box, few japanese newspapers and HE (or SHE).
beautiful. black. comfortable and so light.
hmmm... but how It sounds? my bass gear (Gallien Kruegger 700 RB II and Ampeg SVT 410 HLF) is at the moment in the studio. call our producer. unavailable... this is only thing that connect him with Rick Rubin... unavailable...
ok. Music Store. one of the biggest music shops in Poland. three floors with drums, keyboards, guitars, amps and other stuff... immediately after work (even a little bit earlier) I went to this shop.

Ampeg B2R and some Ashdown 4x10 box. volume and master on 5. both pickups, other knobs on full. first punch and... their eyes. like this:
the sound... dense, fat, heavy, bright, excellent.
they took the instument from me and played over one hour... bastards
well... that's all for now. big thanks to the Creator Mr. Sadowsky. big thanks to Sadowsky Japan staff (I couldn't read the newspapers, so I trow It away.... big thanks to Mr. Kevin and Alex.
