Yes, she is absolutely beautiful (thank you), but I mean the playability, the crystal clear tone, and the versatility that comes out of it are just mind-boggling. Ever since I strung it EADGC, it's like the bass has been re-born.

I just started experimenting with a mute under the strings at the bridge. I'm trying to come close to a Motown 'thump'... more tweaking to do, but I might be able to get there.

few words about my first day with Sadowsky...

first, visit at the airport cause my friend brought the instrument to Poland. he was fortunatelly in NYC in time I was ordering my M5. he paid missing amount and took the bass as a personal luggage. cool guy isn't he...

Delta Airline didn't load my bass on time and Sadowsky was in Poland three days later. three days later... can You imagine the state of my mind but finally yesterday I got It. It was my work time so I took the bass to my office. unpacking. cardboard box, few japanese newspapers and HE (or SHE).

Oh man. I can only imagine how you felt. Must've been much like how I felt when I was forced to hand-check my Fodera on a flight (put in the storage compartment) only in its gig bag...but for three days!

ok. Music Store. one of the biggest music shops in Poland. three floors with drums, keyboards, guitars, amps and other stuff... immediately after work (even a little bit earlier) I went to this shop.

Ampeg B2R and some Ashdown 4x10 box. volume and master on 5. both pickups, other knobs on full. first punch and...

You had the volume halfway and the bass and treble all the way up? I wasn't sure if that's what you meant. If so, !

the sound... dense, fat, heavy, bright, excellent.

they took the instument from me and played over one hour... bastards

P.S. Apologize for my english... but writing this in polish wasn't a best idea...

You're English is quite good. If you posted in Polish I'd have to use online translation and we all know how bad they are. Everything gets literal, mechanical translation. I like this much better.

Yeh that is cool how Andy can learn things from you and b.c. both can teach him alot, he has a great advantage. And goofy is such a strong word, i would go with... fun.. intertaining... or maybe for a lack of a better term, animated (all of which are true with b.c as well )

Not to hijack this thread, but seeing your avatar, I was wonderig about the size of the body of the Modern vs. the Vintage.
Is the Vintage PJ you got from BigMike the full J size or the smaller (7/8, Dinky or whatever you call it) and is the Modern that smaller?

Ask Lex Honestly though you saw me on a pretty tame night. Kinda the reason I didn't ask to borrow the Sad. for the evening. Amazingly enough, the Fender Jazz is still very very clean after a while of that. I think I am getting a hold of this space thing.

1. Ampeg: volume - 5 ; master - 5 (I didn't touch the EQ)
2. Sadowsky: both pickups and all other on full

Yesterday I finnaly reach our producer... He was simply amazed hearing Sadowsky. All previous recorded tracks on my Music Man was erased and replaced by new SOUND of Marcin Łatko......

Pls see attached photos from the studio
first is quite clear and second will be some riddle for all of You. My question is: What is It? Anybody knows.....?

Ohhhh. I thought you were talking about the preamp on the bass not the amp. Still, when you say all knobs on full that sounds like you have the volume, bass and treble all the way up on the bass. I think I know what you mean now though. I only add the tiniest amount of bass from the onboard EQ and sometimes when I slap I add a little treble. Otherwise, the Sadowsky preamp is basically flat.

Glad to hear your producer liked the sound of the bass!

Regarding the pic: I know that it's an EQ unit for a mixing desk but I'm not sure which one. I'd say it was from an Olympic desk but that's just a wild guess. Am I close?
