Club Sadowsky!!!

That looks like a basement setup!
Yup. My basement studio. I'm gonna gig it with my MTD 535-24 in a few weeks though.

That's amazing. My plumber said not to put too much work into my basement studio-- no rugs or anything. Said he's seen too many get flooded in my area. I've got the bare minimum BUT it's away from the family and I don't have to put everything away every time!

Some of you may remember the Marcus tribute build that never happened some years back. Well, the build happened, but it was never brought to market. I think there was a picture of the back of it hanging in the shop circulating at some point... I do wonder where the physical bass wound up. Maybe it tuned into a Christmas present for Marcus instead?

Inquiring minds...

I could never afford a NYC Sadowsky so I was intrigued when they released the Metro Express line a few years ago. I took the chance on the reviews that the new generation is much improved over the first generation ones and took the plunge. (Thanks for the Sweetwater financing!)

So far I’m loving it and I get the hype. I did replace the pre with the drop in one with the VTC and it makes a world of difference. I still love my Stingray but I have another tool in the shed. Many compliments on the tone from the band and sound men.

I’ve struggled with “jazz” basses in the past though. I love how they play and feel but couldn’t get a tone I really liked but the ME has a nice growl and bite to it. My only slight complaint is I wish the active and passive levels were more balanced. The 18mm spacing works fine for me and I love the feel of the roasted maple neck which I also loved on my Ray.
