The MetroExpress was made in Japan from 2017-2020. This was a full-on factory-made Sadowsky in only the 4-21 and 5-21 models and the 4-24 and 5-24 models. We also did the Verdine White model. They were chambered. Production ended in 2020.

The TYO models were Japan "Custom Shop" models made for the Japanese market only.

Since 2020, MetroLine production moved to the Warwick Factory in Germany. The MetroExpress is made by Warwick in China.

Also, only recently has there been talk of the Japan Metroexpresses being chambered.
As this was a ‘premium’ feature, it’s surprising it wasn’t mentioned in the Metroexpress specs when they were being produced .Although this doesn’t really matter, it would be good to have clarification.

Hi everyone,

I am shocked at how nice this bass is. I wasn’t sure what to expect from the Metroline. I haven’t seen a MIJ one in real life.

This bass is light, resonant, and very easy to play. The fretwork is perfect.

The VTC controls are a little non-intuitive for me in that the pickup blend is definitely backwards for me, and I realized that bumping the active treble and then cutting the VTC can give you more mids.

The pickups are noise cancelling, and they’re a little on the polite side for me, but I like digging in and getting a geowly tone.

Amazing instrument though. Oh and the matte finish is awesome. No surprise that it reminds me of the red finish on my Warwick Corvette.

The VTC is the 3rd pot and is a passive tone control. You can reverse the hot wires on the pan pot to reverse the direction.
The less you boost the preamp, the more mids you will have.

Just picked up a 2022 Metroline MJ4. It plays amazing, but noticed this small gap at bottom of neck pocket. Is this normal for the Warwick builds? My first Sadowsky so just curious if it's nothing unusual for Warwick Metrolines. If anyone has one and can compare I'd appreciate it!

That gap looks too sloppy for my liking. My German Metro and my Japanese ones have a really tight and tidy neck joint.

Feel same, fortunately it's only on bottom side and from the top it looks great. I think I'm going to keep it and just try not to look at that part...it's so fun to play, and amazing range of tones

I guess this is around my 16th Sadowsky.
I’m always stupid enough selling or trading them if I want something else.
This green one I got in a trade and planned to move it through again. I hate PJ, I didn’t like the looks etc etc

But then I recorded for a clip on my YouTube channel and I was blown away.

Using it live now and it blows me away everytime.
What a monster of a bass!!

I have to make a note that I won’t be selling this one.
