Hey all. So, if any of you have seen my review and previous posts on here, I got my UV70 5'er last week and got to spend about 20 hours with it this weekend.

I have to say that the bass is just amazing! I was A/B'ing it with my Atelier Z and after Vic reminding me that these are two opposite instruments, I was able to step back and really see the Sadowsky for what it is.

The biggest thing I noticed with mine is that it has a HUGE sound all the way up and down the fretboard. Any and all notes on the G string sound just as phat and huge as they do on the E and B. In my experiences with basses, this really what sets apart Fodera, Sadowsky from Fender, Ibanez, etc...

I know these are the Japanese made ones, but Roger, you have an amazing product with your name on it out there! I know that a good portion of the bass is the same as the NYC models, but the people in Japan doing the work are just incredible.

I cannot wait to get this out to a gig and let it do its' thing. Sadly, my next gig is not until December 9th. :(

Not really, my PJ and J are here with me. ;) That's a friend's bass. He also has an awesome spalted maple modern 5.
I am good enough not to need a 5 stringer :D.

I've only tried that p102 in my living room, but it seems to have a nice deep tone and bright slap friendly highs. Just not my thing at the moment; I'm going exactly in the opposite direction: vintage, tweeterless, under 3Khz tone.

My wife's mother still lives in Oviedo. So we will get there eventually. Hopefully within the next year or so. My wife really misses it there. She's been in the USA for about 8 years now and can't wait to get back there for a long visit.

Now, back to our regularly scheduled program....:D

I have to confess that I recently had to give up my Sadowsky club membership:bawl: A fellow TB'er was looking to trade his bass for a Sadowsky Metro, and I decided to oblige, only because the bass I got in trade was VERY high on my GAS list, and I felt that it would be easier for me to acquire another Sadowsky down the road than for me to acquier said bass(which shall remain nameless here:ninja:).

I love the bass that I traded for, but really miss my Metro. They are similar instruments in look and feel, but very different in sound, the other going for a more vintage vibe.
I WILL have another Sadowsky someday. Although it's terribly difficult to be patient while coming here and seeing all of your beautiful Sadowsky's:crying:

Well my friend, maybe you should get help anyway. just in case... :D:help: :D

I also got the 102p as an extention cab to my cmd121p. It's nice but I wish I could get a Bergi AE210 instead.

It bears mention that, while the Metros aren't made in the NYC shop, Roger spent a LOT of time training those folks. I thought I even heard one or more of the folks from the Japan shop spent like a year in the states being trained?

Also, funny you should mention the smaller strings and especially the G string. This is probably one of my favorite features of the Sadowsky. Some basses just kind of disappear in the mix if you don't dig in a bit harder on the D and especially the G. Most of the high end stuff is not bad about it, but at least I notice it. Not an issue on the Sadowsky basses. Wonderful.

HI

If u need a pickguard for it, they sell them on the Sadowsky site. Just go to the online store. I doubt a Fender guard will line up perfectly

Hey Moon. Now that you have the metro, you can order the Will Lee. When the WL is done, you can sell the metro and a couple other basses you'll never use again once you play it. LOL
