Don't get all those Sadowskys to close together. They might start breeding then you will be overrun with 'em.
Yup......and when I put my Sadowsky guitars into the mix........it's very easy to be overrun! But I sure enjoy that kind of torture!!!!

Used this bass yesterday to cut three tracks for a local blues player. Tracks were basics so they were drums and bass forwrd with scratch guitar and vocals (B-3/piano will be added next week). I've got to say WOW this bass sounds incredible!! I wanted to record passive with VTC @ 50%, but after an hour with the sound engineer he convinced me to go active, bass EQ boosted to 25%, treble EQ just off zero and pick ups blended to 90% P. I was a little skeptical with what I was hearing back through the phones but during playback it was all grins. The sound was deep, warm, edgy, with a ton of thump and very clean. I guess i shouldn't be suprised but this bass continues to amaze. Tip o' the hat to the folks at Sadowsky.
Hope to have clips in a couple of weeks.

I sold an old refin'd 65 P to buy this and have absolutely no regrets. This bass is truely incredible. Fuzzbass, I hope it's a short 5-7 mo. wait. Cory get one of these and put it to work!!

Yeah, I am trying to figure out if I want a regular PJ5, a reverse PJ5, or a kick butt P5 like that black one......still pondering.
Hi all. I became the proud owner of a RV5 metro over the summer and have been following the club but have not joined because I did not have a pic before this. So I figured it was time.
Also, I have a question for everyone. I have gotten my gear down to just these two basses (72 Fender and the Sad) for a while now and I am getting ready to add a third. The problem is, I know I want another sadowsky but just cant decide on what to get.
I am either going to get a NYC that is very similar to the RV5 (for woods), or go with a metro modern 5. I have played a modern and really loved it in a bass store, but I have always been a jazz bass person so I am not sure how I will dig the tone over the long hall or in a band setting. And there are no retailers near me. Are there any albums/artist that capture the moderns tone. I have listened to some UTube stuff but I think a studio album would help the decision.
Lastly, I really am not worried about fancy tops but would enjoy the lighter weight of the NYC. Am I going to hear a big tonal difference between that and my metro? (I am sure that topic has been covered a lot but it has been hard to track down the info with searches.) O, and as for the music I play I really dont do very much recording but I play out a lot in a variety of setting from funk, fusion, to cover bands of all types.

Check out Ron Jenkins. He is a 5-24 player and recorded his album with that bass.

You should be able to stream the album and get a good feel for the tone of the 5-24. I've never played one but from what I understand, what you get is what you get. There are certain basics to the inherent tone that can't be changed. Some players just love them and the tone.

I've had almost same experience with my sado!
I allways have my pre-amp on with little boost on both, Hi and low... I think that pre-amp is the "soul" of sadowsky basses
It just sounds GREAT
