Club Sadowsky!!!

Hi all. I became the proud owner of a RV5 metro over the summer and have been following the club but have not joined because I did not have a pic before this. So I figured it was time.
Also, I have a question for everyone. I have gotten my gear down to just these two basses (72 Fender and the Sad) for a while now and I am getting ready to add a third. The problem is, I know I want another sadowsky but just cant decide on what to get.
I am either going to get a NYC that is very similar to the RV5 (for woods), or go with a metro modern 5. I have played a modern and really loved it in a bass store, but I have always been a jazz bass person so I am not sure how I will dig the tone over the long hall or in a band setting. And there are no retailers near me. Are there any albums/artist that capture the modern’s tone. I have listened to some UTube stuff but I think a studio album would help the decision.
Lastly, I really am not worried about fancy tops but would enjoy the lighter weight of the NYC. Am I going to hear a big tonal difference between that and my metro? (I am sure that topic has been covered a lot but it has been hard to track down the info with searches.) O, and as for the music I play I really don’t do very much recording but I play out a lot in a variety of setting from funk, fusion, to cover bands of all types.

Weak..?...As Hong Kong Dollar and US Dollar rate is linkage..

You may see the RV4 next to the MV5-24 listed price is $249, 900 YEN which is about $2800 USD. That's why I didn't buy any music related stuff.

You should be able to stream the album and get a good feel for the tone of the 5-24. I've never played one but from what I understand, what you get is what you get. There are certain basics to the inherent tone that can't be changed. Some players just love them and the tone.

Happy to join and I am glad you liked the clip. I tried both basses before recording and the Sadowsky just sounded so much fuller. (But since I only had 30 min after setup for recording the bass I couldn't do a A/B to the fender.) I should be doing a "real" recording with the bass soon.

Yes, you will want the VTC. I love it on my UV70. Congrats by the way!! You know the rule though, no pics=no Sadowsky. :D

FWIW, I can offer a few clips of my Metro M5-24. It's a beast, and will cut through any mix. Sometimes this is a bull-in-a-china-shop kind of proposition, but I can say that having the VTC makes a huge difference. It's still a bull...but it now has manners. :)

These clips are pre-VTC (mine was an early model that came without and I did the retrofit late last year), but they definitely give an idea of the sound. The bass (ash/maple) was recorded live, running through Epifani UL amps and 10" cabs.

Combined with the Metro P you just bought, I'd say you are unequivocally the official Sadowsky hoarder for Oregon.

I like the caramel burst with tort - I wouldn't have thought of that combo.

Believe it or not, I'm a little a shame of owning so many Sadowskys. I'm trying to get all my sound covered. I will probably sell one or two in the near future once I figure which one I want to keep. oh...Damn! I want to keep em all.

Thanks a lot. That was really helpful. I can hear what you are talking about. Especially when compared to my RV5 it for sure is a bull. It would be a great addition to the two jazz setup I currently have.

Anyone know when (or are there already some) pics of the new metro finishes?
