how should I use the steel wool? parrallel to the strings? perpendicular?

I'll let Rob correct me if I'm wrong, but IMHO, ALWAYS go with the grain in the wood (in other words, parallel.) Always.

Parallel it is. From the nut to the end of the board, keep even straight passes, no need to press hard or stay in one spot.

Let me say something about the setup as well. This bass shipped cross-country, yet it's got the best setup of any bass that I have ever played. Absolutely killer.

It was put as new on the In Stock Update page when it was already already sold to a player who had visited the shop and the In Stock page updater web guy was unaware of this. A simple understandable miscommunication that had me pounding my head into the wall.

happened to me before. Don't feel bad... The shop is small and they are doing tons of things, this kind of delay in the update can happen...

I love the 'look' of an ebony Fingerboard, but I've always found the highs to be a bit too brittle and snappy sounding to my ears. I prefer Maple FB's, or a rosewood such as Morado.

But day-am, that is one GORGEOUS Bass! Yowsa!

Both have the vintage tint. I always order my necks with the vintage tint (and request it to be darker than the 'standard' vintage tint). The tint on the fretted is slightly darker, but it can also be that it has been played a lot and it has stayed out of the case for many hours so it might be darker than when I got it new.

It's just not what I expected: it holds the bass and supports a rack too.
