Ah, it all becomes clear. I sometimes forget that the are actual pros on here. I guess I see everything though my own pub-band-level lens.

That's still an impressive collection of four-stringers, though.

You are correct - mine is a NYC. If memory serves, I bought this one from username "Pickles" ....

Well, I realize it's still the honeymoon period, as I've only played four gigs with it so far, but the WL is starting to look an awful lot like THE ONE. I don't recall feeling quite this strongly about any of my other basses (though it was close when I first got the PJ). I even did something I haven't done in years of gigging -- only brought one bass. I almost never play only one bass on a gig, and bringing only one is just unheard of for a bass whore like me.

So am I settling down with just one bass? Time will tell. I'll always love my Steinberger and Reverends, and the PJ will be a great change of pace, but it's hard to picture any other bass being my #1, and right now I have no desire to gig anything else. :eek: It works for every song we play, and the flexibility is just enormous. I haven't even messed with it in passive mode yet.

This bass just kills. Perfect in every way. Many thanks to Roger and Will for designing it, and for Lisa Hahn for building such a fantastic instrument. I couldn't be happier! :hyper:

New NYC 24 Fret 5 should be shipped soon - just got the pic from Kevin! There are still a couple inspections that have to be done, but it should be soon. Yeah, custom knob placement because I prefer "P Bass positioning" vs. the stock layout. Also went for the "kill switch" on the preamp vs. a push-pull pot.

Can I get a member number?

From the pickup moving towards the bridge, we should have V, Balance, VTC, T, B. I had this idea from day one, but then realized that Valenti and Nordstrand and probably others have this arrangement. The stock diamond pattern puts that one knob very close to the bridge, which makes palm muting difficult - at least for me. I have a pre-Gibson Tobias Killer B5 with that situation - knob close to the bridge, so when I started thinking about getting a NYC, I had to have it the way I wanted it - and Roger was cool about it.
