Vintage Series Metros are different animals than Will Lees so what's the connection? I guess we just have to wait for details on the Will Metros.

:confused: I guess I don't understand your question. An MV is the standard ash maple metro vintage/standard, the RV is the standard alder/morado metro vintage/standard.

I would assume the differences would be the same as between the NYC's.... thinner nut profile, the mid boost on the pre, and 22 frets. I would also assume the Will Lee Metro would not have graphite reinforced neck and use the overseas hardware, and non routed bodies, just like the other Metro's.

I assume they will have the spec up on the site soon to clarify and see what the deal is.

I tend to keep 2 to 3 at a time. Ive been up to 5 but I havent been gigging for a living this year like the past 7. I presently have my NYC Will Lee and my Metro PJ hybrid. I sold my NYC JJ5 a couple months ago but I am looking to pick up another 5 as soon as I can swing it. Anyone want to buy a sweet '67 50 watt Bassman? LOL. That will prolly pay for half of it. Glad you said hello. BTW, are u any relation to Fran Burick from AZ?

Another difference with the Will Lee is that (at least on the NYC models), the bass comes with a drop-D tuner, a feature I've never had on a bass before but suddenly found myself using on a gig the other night. I'm not sure if the metros will have that or not.

I really do love the neck on the WL. Best I've ever played.

I'd be virtually certain the Metros won't have either the routed bodies or the graphite reinforcement, but they'll probably have all the other features (narrower nut, 22 frets, deeper cutaway, mid boost, etc.).

All the specs are the same! Except for chambered body and graphite strips.

My understanding is the features are identical. Differences will be the same as any NYC vs. Metro. Routing/no routing, graphite bars/no bars, any option youd like/set colors and options, etc. Will Lee's have single coils, 22 frets, unique 3 band pre, d-tuner, 1.45 at the nut, etc. Both will have these features

He called us a couple of months ago and spent an hour on the phone with Kevin talking about basses and dogs, and ordered a new vintage 4 (he said he regretted selling his Sadowsky years ago). He started touring with Keith Emerson the beginning of April and I hooked up with him at sound check at the Nokia Theater in Times Square. He is a most wonderful, personable fellow! This bass he is holding is a loaner until we finish his custom build. This first leg of the tour culminates at the end of July with a reunion Emerson Lake and Palmer concert in London.

I'm related to so many Buricks that I get dizzy! I even recently discovered that my cousin Derf played bass for Engelbert Humperdinck. Man... sounds like a fun gig.

I have a huge family on both sides and they are all over the states, but mostly in NY, PA, VA and WV.

I'm not sure about Fran from AZ yet, but if I ask my grandma, I'm sure I'll find out.

I still have the black Modern 5 JJ. I'm never parting with it. Ever. Period. I'm surprised you did.

I still have the Bora Blue Burst 4480 Standard 5, but I can't remember who had it before me for some reason. I was bummed when I saw it disappear off the Sadowsky site, because I wanted to buy it from there so I got it right when I saw it listed online.

I got the 4480 first and the black one right after that.

It's amazing how they've held up. The poor black bass has taken abuse (locally and on the road) and just begs for more.

I have owned a LOT of other basses and even rented/borrowed other great basses with friends and these two are the first to never have a single issue. They hold their tune, the electronics still work and none of my pots make any sounds or anything that they shouldn't.

Well I'm off to work, be on later!
