It seems that Roger has a couple of choices. Either keep growing the product line with specific-feature models or offer several basic models and have an array of options available for them like the car makers do. In a limited way he's already doing both with standard-feature Metros and NYCs offered with a few model-specific options.

It's entirely up to him.

After going thru a "bass of the month" for a few years, I decided it was time to move a few dust gatherers and pick up a bass that would satisfy. Having had a couple of Sadowsky's in the past and talking with Roger many times, I knew that was the direction I wanted to go in.

About a month ago, I made plans to go to Brooklyn and try out a few basses. My thought at the time was a four string, 24 fret with either JJ or PJ pickups. I was going down there to decided which configuration I wanted.

Well after nearly three hours of playing, I ended up putting money down and ordering a Will Lee. The mid boost made so much of a difference it turned me around completely.

Now if I could get a WL with a 24 fret neck, that would be perfect. But between the two, I'll take the WL preamp every time.

Ha! I went to' the shop while on honeymoon 7 years ago ... Now we have two daughters - 2 year and 8 months old - so no plans to' visit Roger soon! Have a nice time in the city, my friend!!!

I find that Morado seems to not have as much aggression in the low treble range as maple, and that morado tends to have a slightly higher ping to it, which means morado will sound a bit "sweeter" when slapped, but might sound slightly duller with regard to "zing" for fingerstyle. That low treble range on maple can sound a little harsh or "ganky" when slapped solo, but in a mix, it actually helps punch through with more authority, tho still maybe lacking a little of the sweetness you get with morado... which is why I usually drop the VTC a tad when slapping on maple... works wonders.

I own identical MV and RV basses, and agree with your assessment. Well written.

Regarding walking the Brooklyn Bridge, hell yes. In August, or any month but December. Don't forget your camera. Once in Brooklyn, keep walking downhill until your feet are wet and then backtrack six paces. 20 Jay Street is almost in the river.

Will has a few 5's from us, and uses his 5-24 all the time (in the studio).

This Ash/Morado UV-70 has been owned by a three TBer's that I know of (4 counting me). I hope it has a home for a while. So far I love it. I have had it in two different band (practice) settings and it did great in both. It was yummy. I snapped a quick Pic a few minutes ago and the second is one I got from ChrisGotFunk. I will try to get some action shots this weekend.
