Yeehaaaa, in with pics!
My fearsome foursome...
The studio "destroyer" or "blonde bomber"... you pick...
[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]
The one that looks as pretty as it sounds... or vice versa...
[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]
The one that got me seriously sold on Metros (has a tort guard now tho)...
[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]
And the one that has pretty much the same tone as the destroyer (since I had them swap the HC's out for SC's), but with 24 frets, and another totally killer Metro...

Thanks! Though I happen to know you have a pretty damn kicka$$ collection of "J's" yourself, too.Holy Cow Vic!
No matter how many times you post the foursome it's overwhelming.
Good for you.
It's a lot harder to tell now, because the PJ is tort these days. In fact, I've never actually seen it in person with the white guard installed. The thing that's cool about Vic's pix is that you can really see the differences in the pickguards with the different setups...JJ to PJ to 24fret.
Yeah, I just love that sound SO SO MUCH in a Sadowsky, and I get a pretty significant diff between the pickup types and configs that it's really a perfect set for me. I could see maybe getting into an ash/morado combo someday, but really, I'm so satisfied with this set I don't really GAS for another one. That sure is a lotta maple...

Ahhh, yeah. I'm not totally sure, but I think the body size, shape, and sculpt might be the same one they use for the Modern/24-Fret 5... literally the same body/neck, just a different pickup/elex route, and of course the guard. And yeah, if you really focus on it, it's evident that it ends up having to be kind of a strange looking guard to accommodate the config. The body really is pretty different. It's not just a deeper lower cut. The sculpting is also different. A little more slab-like, not as round around the corners, etc.As far as the guards, I was thinking more about the size of the pickguard. With the JJ more or less a standard and how the size of the guard is changed to accommodate the PJ or the 24fret fitting.
I know, famous last words, but man, I am just so happy with these right now."I am so satisfied with this set I don't really GAS for another one" REALLY? Are you sure???![]()

LOL, well, let's maybe extend at least to any Sadowsky, anyway, not just the maple boarded ones. Now this comment I am sure is limited to Sadowsky basses with Maple fingerboards only and everything else is fair game![]()
