Club Sadowsky!!!

Thanks Tom, I'll keep my eye out for the video.

Cheers,

EG
You won't find it. It's an old behind the notes video, it was only supported as a stream (so I couldn't save a local copy, and they wouldn't agree to give/sell me a copy), and it's gone from their site now. SADLY!! It was a GREAT video. I've thought about having Kevin ask them for a copy to stream from the Sadowsky site. Man, I really hate to lose that resource!

Man, this one kills me every time I see it! :) SO perfect!

Vic stop!!!! Arggggghhhh! LOL.
Stop what, quoting that totally awesome NYC vintage 24 fret? Sorry, no can do... that bass just kills me too much. :D

Hey, I do have some minor bragging rights on mine tho, even though it's not an NYC with insanely beautiful woods... it's literally the very first Metro vintage 24 fret ever sold. :)

Can I join da club? Just picked up this beauty today! :)

Newbie question, but do the necks on these have a deliberate drop-off on the fingerboards at the body-end? When sighting the neck from the bridge, it certainly does appear that way, gives the appearance of having back-bow, even when I don't think there is.

P.S: Sounds KILLER! :)

Cheers,

EG

Congrats! and welcome to the club.:bassist: You are in very good company.

As Tom briefly said, the drop off is part of the design. There was some discussion about this several Sadowsky Club threads back.

How about here for the link: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] I just checked this and the video on setup is gone as Vic noted. It's still kind of interesting getting to see the chambered body with the top off in Part 1 anyway.

This will be back up on the Behind The Notes site once the update is finished. I was told this fall!

#299. welcome to this fine club :)

I asked Vic if he could fill in for me this weekend at my home church. He brought his New Metro MV5 24 with single coils over and plugged his F1 into my AE410 and DI to FOH. I got a chance to listen to rehearsal before tonight's service and it sounded friggin' awesome. After rehearsal, went up on stage and checked out the new bass and it is awesome. Felt great and sounded awesome. Makes me really gassy for a sadowsky again.

Good thing this will be mine soon (from TBer mophead), just have a kidney left to pay

I have a ash body/morado board on another bass and love it, so this should be a keeper for me. Really want to put some single coils in it, but Vic said he had some extra pot :p(500k) that I might be able to talk him into installing and doing a direct comparison with one of his.

This IS another one of those rare occasions that I am just smitten with a fancy top. That bass floats my boat big-time.

I am curious to hear the results on the pot change. I bought several but have yet to make any changes.

Thanks, and I must say I'm envious of your gig there, man, Bob and Mike are total groove masters. I can't wait to play the other two services tomorrow. :)

Yeah, I've got one you can have. Just bring that (totally killer) bass over sometime. :)

I changed it over in my Metro PJ5 and while it was a positive difference, it wasn't night/day, so I don't think it'd really take the place of replacing HC pickups with SC's if you really want SC that sound. IMHO anyway.

Jerry congrats! that bass not only looks great, it sounds terrific! :hyper:

can you please comment the recording details...

...and great playing also :bassist:

^ Wow, that is gorgeous.

Here's a better shot of my latest - ignore its neighbor from today's gig. :D

The sound of this bass is just amazing. Today's hit was mostly jazz, and I didn't hesitate to use it...here are a few clips:
