Club Sadowsky!!!

Hey all, here is my new NYC 24-5. What a really nice bass. I'm looking to trade this for a NYC JJ 5 in the same condition. This bass is 3 weeks old. Just wanted to let you guys know here before I post it in the classifieds.

Sorry for the question but.... tell me WHY!! (are you selling it)

Not selling, just want to trade. I'm more of a JJ guy.
Same here. I also had a stellar 24-Fret and even tho I didn't specifically trade it, ultimately, the goal was the same... replace it with a Sadowsky JJ5. The 24-Frets are fantastic instruments, but I'm just much happier with the JJ5.

I have noticed that none of the recently completed builds are shown on the "recently sold" pages of the Sadowsky site. Just curious about why not. It would be nice to go have a look see of what players are ordering as well as the "stock" builds. There must be lots of basses we're not getting to see.
B.

We only have time to photograph the stock instruments and add them to the site.

I see.... years ago I had the same dilemma ... I solved the problem buying both. I know, it's a bit expensive solution but I am very happy.....:) Sorry guys, I know it's not my business but I could not resist..... :p

I am trying to hunt down a NYC JJ5 to buy. I got this 24-5 from a bass store here in Philly, brand new. So, I know they are out there somwhere.

What kind of idiot would have to own more than one Sadowsky? Huh? ;)

I wish you luck. I looked for 3 or 4 months for a used NYC Vintage JJ5 ash/maple. I finally gave up and started a build in March. About a month ago Chasarms grabbed one but that is the only one I remember seeing that was Ash/maple and 59Burst. I hope you find what you are looking for but you might have to just put yours up for sale and start a build. Only you can decide when or if you finally give up and have exactly what you want built. I bought a used Metro UV70-5 to play until I get my NYC and was gonna flip it when I got the one that I am having built but I have decided to keep it also. Keep trying maybe you will get lucky and find exactly what you want.

Me too. I looked for a 59' burst Ash/Maple NYC forever. I final ordered one.

Take the plunge and order a new one -- and get exactly what you want. The stuff coming out of the shop these days is amazing.

+1 again.

I just got amazingly lucky on mine. Kismet. Karma. Whatever it was. The one I just barely missed at the shop somehow came back around to me via PM right after I'd sold my 24 Fret 5 and posted up the specs I was gonna' order. I couldn't jump on that fast enough.

FWIW, I'll probably have my M5-24 for sale again. I, too, seem to be a JJ guy. I also could pay off my credit card with the sale and some savings.
I TOTALLY understand. That 24-Fret 5 I had was absolutely fantastic, and I gave it a good run for its money, but ultimately it just wasn't quite "me".

I think a new amp would help, but I don't know if I want to start all that. And with some savings, gig money and a sale, I could cut my credit card debt in half. We'll see what happens I guess. I really love Sadowsky basses, but I think I need a 24 fret JJ and I can't afford it. Better to pay off debt I think.

Same here..I owned a Metro (my first Sadowsky) and later an NYC 24-5. I always liked it, but never fell in love with it. I should have learned....I've owned 4 Smith's with the similar setup and ended up selling all of those too. I just think that basses with the soaps shifted towards the bridge are just not my thing. I still love all my other Sadowsky's though!
