I'd love to get something like an MV5 to go with my M5-24. I think my next purchase is an amp upgrade - trade my GB Shuttle 6.0-12T combo for a Shuttle 9.0 and a Bergie HT112ER cab. I think that rig will sound better with the M5-24...and anything else for that matter.

I got back around to my Metro PJ5 last night. It was one of three basses I took, and it ruled them all. :) The rig was F500/2xAE210... straight up/flat, no filters. All I touched was the gain/volume. Done. :)

One was about as far away from a J style bass as you can get, while the other was sort of a PJ5 with a fairly old school tone. But that's all I can really say right now. ;)

The venue was a banquet hall, so it wasn't as bad as the state fair gig on the 13th, but it wasn't all that good, either. So a more cutting aggressive tone was king last night. The sorta' PJ5 was just too old school... I'm fairly sure if my PJ5 was an alder/rw model, I wouldn't have dug it nearly as much in that particular place. The ash/maple combo was simply the perfect fit. The music was the dance/party band... disco, funk, classic rock, country. We pretty much play everything except metal.

I can't wait to get my hands on an RV5 at this point to kinda' compare, and I'm glad I'll likely have a chance to hear before/after SC conversion too.

Tracked my bass yesterday in the studio. Did 3 songs on my Sadowsky NYC and one on my Lakland Hollowbody (flats). The Sad sounded great! What a shock! ; )

Didn't use the Will Lee as it just arrived and the strings were so bright and new. Can't wait to play it next weekend at a gig though.

I got a 78 fender jazz with single pu's and sadowsky preamp inside. The feel is different, the sound is different, they are similar but different instruments. My fender sounds very M. Miller, very aggressive and primitive. It has a lot of defects, it's heavy, noisy, the fret work isn't perfect, but I love it. My sadowsky is THE perfect bass, very professional, versatile, light and powerfull, very modern, perfect for live gigs. I need both, I like both. I could not give up either.... I think Fender has been a genius in the 50s as Sadowsky is now. (sorry for my english....:hmm:)

My PJ has the HC in the bridge position. Most do I believe, otherwise you would have a lot of hum issues. Unlike the SC JJs, a PJ fitted with a SC in the bridge would even hum in the "neutral" detent position. I think you would fight more noise than it would be worth. The HC works really wellin these basses. IMO.

So what you're saying is you can't just buy 1 x single coil sadowsky pup and drop it into the bridge pup location and run it with P pup ??

sorry if I'm asking astupid question but, is there such a thing as a single coil P pup?? :hiding:
