Club Sadowsky!!!

How dark is the Metro rosewood fret board anyway??

Guys, Hoping those who own a Sadowsky bass can help me understand what the true color of a rosewood board looks like? I've seen many pics that have them looking sort of washed out...like light brick-colored or so, when past rosewood basses that I have owned had a much deeper, chocolat-ey color in tone on the board. I don't know that what I see is "flash photography - related" vs. actual color and want to better understand what I'm getting if I buy a Sadowsky bass with rosewood neck.

What fretboard color should I expect from a Rosewood board Metro bass?!

Thanks in advance for your POV and experience!!

AFAIK, the f/b's on metros are morado, and not rosewood.
both of mine have been lighter colored, and nicely figured, and a little brighter than standard rosewood i've had experience with.

Here's a pic of mine!

Just got the UV70 yesterday! love it!!

This pic also kinda show's the colour difference between Brazilian rosewood (silver NYC) and Morado (59 burst Metro)

Morado is lighter in colour and sounds closer to maple IMO

:)

Nice, but, you didn't pile them up! ;) :D :D

Nice collection! I did the look of the RS w/ the pickguard. Good stuff.

Thanks :)

Its an awesome bass! the best metro ive played!

Just got back from rehearsals with the UV70, the maple board / 70's spacing took a bit of getting used to after nearly 3 years of rosewood! sounds great though!

taking it on a ten day tour next week so that should give me plenty of time to adjust

I feel very lucky! :hyper: especially because it was an engagement present from my other (better) half :)
