Club Sadowsky!!!

Well I was always jealous about your ash/morado 5 string.
This is my version of it :)

Heh heh. That was a great bass, but an even better pic! Every owner of that bass since me has used that pic, LOL. Tripod + timer + no flash = great bass prOn.

I think I'll be trying those nickels on the PJ as originally intended.

Nice piece of Koa, rodney! Don't see Koa-topped Sadowskys all that often. Nice!

I just picked up my Will Lee yesterday ... wow. Just wow. What a bass. I absolutely can't wait to practice and gig with it tomorrow.

No pics yet, but it's Joeykun's so you have all seen it :)

I actually have another Will Lee on it's way to m as well - should be here next week. I will be swimming in Will Lee's!!!

You talkin about this Bass? I felt sorry for her and gave her a permanent home. Pickles, midmoto, Bartman, ChrisGotFunk, ReBass and now me. Is there anyone else that has owned this Bass?

I had that before Bart, and midmoto had it before me, and I think midmoto and I changed it back and forth a couple times. And he got it from the classifieds here. We've all kept selling it then regretting the sale! One of the best sadowskys I've had for sure, but the 70s thing ended up not quite being "me". All my sadowskys are metro standards now.

Yep, that's it.
I became first aware of it when Bartman posted it.

I believe Sadowsky stopped using the pop-up battery boxes because of reliability issues (think that is what Roger said), well mine finally went. My bass originally did not have one when it was built in 1988, but one was added in 1998 when it got a overhaul. So I guess 12 years out of it is not too bad. The contacts were shot. Ends up it is a Gotoh, picked one up from AllParts.com. Snipped the wires, pulled out the old one and popped the new one in. A little re-soldering and walla! Good as new....

Since the older basses do not have the brass screw inserts for control cover like the new ones, I did not want to just put the battery in the control cavity. Screwing and unscrewing those wood screws will eventually wear the wood out.
