while i'll grant you that does kinda look like vic's biceps; i don't think that's him, and here's why:

1) vic's nails never look that good.
2) i have seen vic use his fourth finger on his fretting hand. a lot, actually. that player is fourth finger averse.

This is a bit off topic, but since I will be creating clips of a Sadowsky, I guess it's OK.

What is the easiest and most low-budget way to make and post sound clips? I'd love to do some for these new basses and slap them up for all the world to hear, but I've never done it.

I have a Sony PCM-D50 recorder (http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PCMD50) or (Invalid Link Removed) for Live recording and it's absolutely fantastic for that type of thing. Since, there is too much background noise at home, I've been using my PreSonus Firestudio Mobile into my laptop pc.

I installed Sadowsky SCs in my new custom fretless and played her at practice at church last night. It's passive - and man(!)... does it sit nice in the mix! Raves all around... band, sound dude and another bass player who was there. I also have the Sad pre with VTC in my "Fendowsky" - and that is incredible too. Yeah, I'm not a true Sadowsky owner... yet, but I REALLY get it!

I flew to the In stock page and thank goodness there is nothing there for me at this time. I would love to have one of everything, but what I am saving up for is not there. Whew!

I ask because I have them on my '62 Fender AVRI Precision and the "A" string has developed a buzzing sound. Never heard it before. I cannot tell where the buzz is coming from - seems to be all over....very, very weird. It is definitely not hitting any frets.

My first idea is to just buy new strings and see what happens.
Any ideas?

My 1st suggestion would be to check how the string is seated in the nut slot. Flats have a much bigger "footprint" than rounds & sometimes the angle of the string from the nut to the winding post doesn't put enough downward pressure on the slot. Make sure the string wraps the post at the bottom of the windings.

Turns out a free software download of something called "Audacity" and a $3 adapter and I am in. I tried one sample before my wife got home and gave me "the look." I went PJ into my LR Baggs DI and then into the PC. It sounded pretty good. Maybe I can cook up some stuff to share while she's out shopping Friday.

I had this happen on my P/J a couple times, what fixed it was to relax the string, letting it unwind by detuning it till it was loose, you may notice the ball end spin a bit, then re-tune the string. If this doesn't fix it, you may have a bad string, replace it. This is of course assuming the setup, nut slot, etc. is correct....best of luck!

....let's skip the drummer joke Dave! I'm dying to hear your fretless with the Sadowsky SC's, and compare it to the bass I just built for my friend Jim, in which I used Sadowsky HC's, also passive (Jim's request)...he has and sometimes uses a Sadowsky pedal anyway....Roger's pickups are awesome!
