Great gig last night, except for at the end. We hired this high end pro light/sound crew and did a pickup gig with them to test run them. The PA was all Bag End and the lights were a whole bunch of those intelligent lights and a fog machine to just mist the air enough to get the lights to create "scenes" and give the lasers stuff to play with. We're working on pics and vids as we speak. I'll post up in the Sadowsky action shots thread if we end up with some decent stuff.
At the end, tho, some incredibly stupid drunk chick was just insistent about getting up on stage, and it was in the middle of the song/set, so it was hard to get someone to get her off-stage or get a friend of hers to do it (we have a pretty strict policy to never drop a tune for stuff like this... just works best for club players IMHO.) Well, before we could get to the end of the song and deal with her, she almost knocked the keyboard player over with hip bumps, managed to fall down and almost knock a whole rack of stuff over, and slung stale beer all over me and my Sadowsky (yeah, the pretty one, 5249).
It's been a really long time since this has happened, so I guess I was due, and it won't change my decision to take any bass I own anywhere I gig, but it does still pi$$ me off big time. I just spent the last two hours taking the pickups out, knobs off, and cleaning everything, not to mention throwing away a nearly new set of Blue SS strings.

Anyway, looking forward to next weekend.

If there's any justice in the world, maybe she threw up on her favorite pair of shoes or even better, the object of her desires.
I haven't done a club gig in forever. Thanks for reminding me that I shouldn't miss it.

Well, again, it's been a LOOONG time since this happened. The vast majority of them are still fun... or I wouldn't do it, either.
That stinks. It has happened to me a few too many times also. I had a variation last month where the beer ended up all over and within the perforated grills of my speaker cab too and some on the drivers. THAT was a pain to clean... 
I guess it can always be worse though.
I had a bad Sadowsky night last night too in that mine took a shot to the edge right near the jack. It resulted in a small 8th of an inch ding. It's small but still annoying...

She is probably waking up about now with some toothless extremely overweight guy. Which is probably much worse than her pounding head and empty wallet.
I have had the same thing happen. Last year we had our guitar player take a pretty good bump to the head after a drunk chick took down a lighting tripod and and one of the cans cracked him right in the middle of a solo. Good thing they were the Chauvet LED cans and not extremely heavy.
The same player had someone walk up on stage between sets about 6 months ago and trip on a cord and knock his favorite PRS off the stand and took a big chuck out of the headstock. He was very unhappy but somehow kept his cool.
Hopefully you will have better times ahead.
random question, but anyone know the different "black" finishes offered?

No he is extremely picky about his PRS guitars. This one was a special one to him and was completely mint. Wiped down and cleaned between sets and very well maintained. In fact when he was hit in the head with the lights he said my head will heal, I am just glad it didnt hit my guitar. I think he was too sick at his stomach to get mad when the guitar got knocked over and lost a chunk of the headstock. It was the club owner that walked up between sets to announce drink specials that tripped on his cable. He said he knew it was an accident and him exploding and saying something dumb wouldnt help anything. The club owner is actually very good to us and felt bad enough without anyone saying a word. He feels the same way about his PRS guitars as we do about our Sadowskys.
When I got the Metro PJ I was a little disappointed that it didn't have much grain in the body, but after living with her for a while I noticed it does have some nice wood on the neck and FB. I have been waiting all week for a couple sets of SS Blues to come in,so while I had the strings off i figured I'd take a pic or two. I also should have a black pickguard and maybe a D-tuner coming for Xmas.
