I'd love the same as what I have in a 5'er and a Jazz bass of some sort, I like the UV, but not a fan of the block inlays. I would go 4 or 5 string, in a Sonic Blue or LPB with a tort guard. I have even thought of doing an unofficial Walter Becker model in a 4 or 5 like this one: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=714048&highlight=sadowsky Not affiliated in anyway...

I do love the blocks and binding. Remind me of my youth. Thats why I always look for the UV's. If not one of them, maybe another Will Lee. This time I might try a Metro WL if one comes thru sub 9lbs. I was hot on ordering a WL5 but my Metro pj5 sounds so good and plays so well I'd be a knucklehead to sell it. Decisions, decisions!

Your Hybrid looks killer. They are great basses!!

Let me help you... what you want is a Vintage 4 ash/maple P/J in '59 burst with a mint guard. Sub 8 pounds would be nice....

I hate it when crap like this happens. We lost a mike stand due to a drunk dancer falling on the stage at our last CD launch last week-end. We've lost mike stands that way before, of course, but it takes a chunk out of our night's take when we have to replace any equipment at all.

All three of us in my band have taken mikes to the teeth due to the same er... dynamic. If I ever lose a tooth, I'm going to go mediaeval on the miscreant.

Don't I kow it, but it could be worse: Back when I was a student, I was in a... er, metal band. Anyway, we were playing a dive, and some drunk got up from his table and, for some reason, heaved a half-full pitcher of bud at me. I bent at the waist and it flew over my head, so I stood up, feeling kind of cocky about the whole thing...


...until I realised that my amp and cab sure as hell didn't duck in time. Talk about fizzle...

Oh well, at least I'd saved the vintage T-Bird.

Dude, I'm Canadian, remember? 'Concealed Carry' up here means putting the hand cannon in the trunk between your house and the range.

No, If I *were* to explore that sort of option, I think I'd prefer the DE in .357 mag, as I've got the ol' tendinitis in the wrists. makes me a little scared of the big booms.

Either that, or one of those hottt CZ 75Bs in 9mm. The stainless one. With the rubber grips. Doesn't cost the same as a bass. Or rather, not one I'd be interested in...

I was thinking of adding a thread to 'Electronics' for this but it would probably be relevant here first . . .

I have a Sadowsky NYC J5 and recently purchased some Markbass equipment. At rehearsals one day there was an almighty crack which sent the 'clip' light blue, rattled the speakers and cut the sound. Oops.

I suspected the amp as it was new. Didn't happen again for 2 weeks then twice in succession. I started to check things out and it happened when I wiggled the jack plug in the bass socket. First move was to consult the experts at TB of course.

There's a post which mentions Monster cables a while ago being too large for the socket and widening the jack 'prongs'. I have a Planet Waves cable I've had for a couple of years but I thought I'd check anyway.

Unscrewed the Sadowsky jack and tried a few jacks out:

The Planet Waves jack (which also slips too easily out of one of the MB sockets) doesn't fit the prongs properly. The top prong should fit snugly into the recess on the plug - it doesn't as it sits on the top rim.

The Sadowsky cable fits like a glove and doesn't slip out of the amp easily either.

Problem solved and a second Sadowsky cable on order. Hope this might help someone else at some stage. Sadowskyleaks . . .
