Awesome, now you get to enjoy your present! look forward to the pics!

So, used the Sad last night on the gig.
Still up in the air on these single coils.

In the end I know that really there isn't much difference, but during soundcheck, I just wasn't digging them a whole lot.

Once the band kicked in, all was fine though.

Again, I'm more in the alder/rosewood or ash/rosewood camp, so the ash/maple with singles may for me be a little too much.

Again, this is in the bigger picture NOT really an issue. Just being nit-picky. I could EASILY live with this for the rest of my life and not have any complaints.
Again, just being fussy....:bassist:

Rig last night was my GB 9.0, Bag End S15D-X, Compulator, Sadowsky, Valenti & PRS.

Did the "big" Christmas gig last night. It was my first nice, long outing with the Sadowskys. I did most of the night on the Modern, and it behaved pretty much as I expected. I really do love that bass.

I'm giving it:
  • Looks: 10
  • Feel: 10
  • Playability: 10+
  • Tone: 9

The thing that "surprised" me the most was the PJ. I only used it on a few tunes, but MAN, it has a sweet tone. It sounded so good on the blues tunes we did. I even played it on a little jazz number with very pleasant results. There are some areas where the M24 certainly has the edge, but the PJ is a REALLY nice bass.

There are some decent shots of the show on my FB page for the guys who are FB friends. It was a great night. Great crownd and lots of money raised.

The ash/maple/singles can get real grindy!! I dig it. But, if you are looking for that alder/rosewood tone
you really have to play with the VTC to roll off that edge.

But, you are right...in the mix it is all good!! :bassist:
