If I knew, I would ask them to put a bridge pickup slightly forward on my tm4 custom, to match the ''sweet spot'' of MM. Then it would be perfect for me...I suppose![]()
Actually I would be interested in this also. Would they do that? But it probably would be as closest as Sandberg can get with their parts.
Basic model with Sandberg pickup and preamp with 3eq sound pretty close to MM.
I just said, with bridge pickup on the ''right'' place and 3 band eq, California tm would be all in one (for me)...considering the look to
You should write them a mail. I regret not asking them before ordering.Actually I would be interested in this also. Would they do that?
Also talk to your local Sandberg retailer. They've previously advised me to use the configurator and then send them the spec sheet in an email including any special requests that they can get quoted by Sandberg.Actually I would be interested in this also. Would they do that?
Hi guys.
Do you know the model California VM Supreme?
What is the original retail price?
I am pondering a trade for my Fender AVRI 64 Jazz. What do you guys think?
I was looking at the pictures of the bass and I can't find the serial number and the Germany stamp. Also, the tuners look different.
Can you guys give me your opinion?
Thanks.

this is MK1 version (pre 2015). It has different tuners, but it SHOULD have a serial. My Sandberg is better than any post 70's fender I've ever played.
O man, You are faster for a secondThanks for the mk1 tip, I found another one like it:
* TRADED* FS/FT 2009 Sandberg VM4 mk1 HEAVY Relic refinish, Haussel pups & Schaller 3D Bridge mods
So, everything seems ok. I just don't know the value. Opinions?
Thanks.
I've been told it would sound different because of the pickup/preamp combination are not the same.

True, but it would get a lot closer. The preamp is what matters the least for a Stingrayesque sound.
A P pickup, wired passively (no preamp), at the right spot, sounded surprisingly close. A MM style pickup gets you even closer even if it's not a correct 'copy' of the Stingray one.
