Club Sandberg (part 2)

Hmmmm.....a draining battery means a short, that connects the battery circuit to ground. What´s that black "thing" at the jack? Looks like a battery clip.
Is there also no sound in passive mode? If yes, then I don´t think it´s the preamp. Then it must be one of the parts that are working in passive and active mode (vol-pot, blend-pot or jack)

Do you know an electrician, who´s able to check all connections? and maybe measure some electrical parts?

Thank you for the information. My bass only works in active mode. There are no passive mode in it, no push pull switch. The bass is with an electrician, he tested all the pots and changed them apart the balancer, and he told me that the issue must come from the circuit as it is old and some lines are fadding away. The picture of the circuit that i posted is like a brand new one that i found on the internet as i am searching to buy one like that. My preamp is in a very old condition.

The best option for me is to have another preamp to put onboard.

Ah ok, oxidating lines are a problem indeed. I was just wondering about the problems with that "brand new" looking preamp from that picture.
Unfortunately there aren´t any spare preamps left of this type. You can use most preamps for replacement. Only problem you´l have, the pots are mounted on the big circuit board and you will have to do some woodwork to prepare the body to mount the pots itself.

The bass is back from the luthier. The volume pot was bad. They put in a mini CTS pot similar to the original.

Yeah, I really dig it. 6.5 lbs. Sounds great. But it seems the zero fret is a little high. Otherwise it plays like buttah.

Questions...

What size is the truss rod? Seems like 4mm, but it feels weird. And, any one have info on what all the set screws do on the bridge? There seem to be 5 of them, I figured out 4 (height left and right, string spacing lock, and one that seems to pitch the saddle fore/aft), but that one behind the string spacing lock screw at the rear... WTH?

Is it new or used? If new, you should have received a manual and tools. Otherwise, I think the manual has been posted online before.

Guess what was in one of the pockets of the very nice gig bag that comes with the bass? I was so excited to play with the bass I forgot all about it. Both manual and wrench, right there. Sheesh...

I own a Sandberg VM4 Hardcore aged. It's high time I changed strings, but where can I find info on what gauges it's setup for?

I have a spare set of EBS stainless 45, 65, 80 and 100, but I'm not sure if that's the correct gauges.

I guess I could restring anyway and fix the new intonation myself, but it's still good to be able to access the information.

Pics first :)
Stock strings are 40,60,80,100 by Sandberg. I like them a lot and using them also on my Fenders since they arrived with Sandberg.
