Not sure you can go wrong with either of those options, but my vote would be for a TM4.

I was in the same position as you. Nowhere to be found in the Pacific Northwest. I just bought one anyway. 1000 raving reviews cannot be wrong, and they weren't.
The guys at Pitbull Audio offer 30 days and they usually have a Sandberg or two in stock. I actually bought mine from them. They said they would take it back 100% if I wasn't happy.
I talked w Ben from Pitbull. Super helpful and owns a Sandberg fiver. But they don’t have one in stock to my liking either way I would have to custom order from Sandberg. Then I would be stuck for sure with it. Kinda wish I could have done the deal with them.
yea I know. CME has one of the two I was looking for exactly in stock. So since I waited for like 8 months to do my research and try to get rid of my GAS now I’m impatient.

I've spent a sum total of 2.5 years waiting for my 3 custom ordered Sandbergs... it's frustrating, but it's worth it.
My friend also got his for just a two and a half month wait. It may mean either that they have accelerated building process or that orders have dropped???
Question for you club-sters familiar with the 4-string Sandbergs...
I'm trying to get an idea of how slim feeling or semi-stout these necks are compared with other common basses in our midst. The spec's listed on their website seem to indicate that the 39.5mm width at the zero fret puts these 4-string necks right in that happy middle ground between a more narrow 1 1/2" Jazz neck and a more chunky 1 5/8" P-bass neck.
Then the profile is listed as "c shape", but in my limited experience there's more than one way to carve a "c", right?
I ask because I recently had a very rough go with a neck that was both too narrow and too shallow for me, but I've always had a soft spot for the in-between nut width of 1 9/16" on a 4-string. It doesn't look like there are any of these basses at a shop within a few hundred miles of me, so there's that.
Actually considering the buy-it-to-try-it route, but the German models are NOT cheap!! Any observations or feedback would be a great help, thanks.

Thanks. A 14" radius looks to be pretty popular among their different 4-strings, which is fine by me.
Can you compare the "beef" of that neck to anything else you've played or sampled in recent history?
Its less "beefy" than my rickenbacker and even my JMJ mustang. My JMJ weighs more than the sandberg.
I feel your pain man. Just ordered one and am super nervous I won’t like the neck shape. Fingers crossed.
