To me it's normal. It happened on all my Sandbergs. Even new ones. I guess they filed it on purpose.

Hey Guys
I own both P & J Electra models, they both still have the original
factory strings.
I just noticed the strings are creating grooves in the zero fret. Is this normal, or should I loosen the truss rod a bit ?
I think the factory strings are stainless steel, could this be part of the problem ?
This is brilliant info!! Thank you so much!
Man, that tobacco sunburst Jazz is so incredible! I want one just like it!
Two questions:
1) Did Sandberg install the Gotoh bridge at the factory, or did you replace an original bridge with that one? If so, did you have to drill new holes for the screws?
2) How would you compare Häussel pups to Kloppmann pups? Why did you choose Kloppmann?
Thanks!

@Justice4trance: you really scored a nice Basic 4 there, to me it looks like a little older model, around 2000 I'm guessing. The body is European Ash, you have a really nice maple fretboard on there. Could you make a better photo of the back of the headstock I can't see the stamp on there well, never seen a stamp like that before. All sandberg Basses are made in Germany except the new Electra models. The components of the basses are also made here in Germany.
Enjoy that bass! Really nice one.

Sound and feel great. I don't need to worry about authenticity of the bass, do I ?
Wondering if mine is Delano pick up or stock sandberg pick up. Either way, it sounds awesome
Thank you nrssab
Great, thank you!Niceee!
Sorry I got mixed up, your sandberg definitely is a newer one, the intonation screws on the bridge show that it's made after 2011, and the stamp also seems to be put on the newer models. So you scored great. It sure is authentic, nice to see some Sandberg go as far as Singapore.
Your bass has the Sandberg pickups, similar to the Delanos but a bit muddier not as clear. I like the Sandberg Humbuckers better than the Delanos.
Regards
there's a new model coming soon, but no 5string so far... maybe next yearDoes anyone know if they plan to produce 5-string electras? I'm craving for a Sandberg but the german ones are unaffordable for me and both electra models are only 4 stringed![]()

Got this yesterday. It's amazing.
