Yup, that was my reasoning, too!
Managed to get some better shots of my new Bullet Booster 5, you can see how nice the texture of the finish is, and there's some beautiful grain towards the top end of the fretboard too:
I am looking into a California TM-4. Anyone rocking one of these? Looks to me like the best way to mix the MM and Jazz tones that I am most fond of.
In my experience, the TM4 (a lovely bass by itself) doesn't sound like a MM neither like a Jazz...
How would you describe the sound, then?
I would like a taste of those tones rolled up in a package that is versatile and great to play.
The TM4 I had in the past sounded... "round", warm. Plenty of lows, and bright at the same time. It's always hard for me to describe a sound. Go check some vidz on Youtube.

@Justice4trance: you really scored a nice Basic 4 there, to me it looks like a little older model, around 2000 I'm guessing. The body is European Ash, you have a really nice maple fretboard on there. Could you make a better photo of the back of the headstock I can't see the stamp on there well, never seen a stamp like that before. All sandberg Basses are made in Germany except the new Electra models. The components of the basses are also made here in Germany.

Whats up everyone! Proud (new) owner of a TM-6, pics to come tomorrow. Question though, what size hex key can I use for the truss rod? The shop that shall not be named did not include one with the bass (also, I didn't double check the gig bag, so my fault too) and it is a lot easier for me to stop by an ace hard wear than get back out to the shop.

Sorry, missed this before. I think the trussrod nut is usually a 4mm? It's worth just buying a cheap set, and you've got everything you could need then.
Thanks guys, thats what I ended up doing. Unfortunately, I had to list it - I really can't get used to the 35 scale. Such a bummer, I almost want to custom spec one exactly like it in a 34...
Got this black beauty, this afternoon. I'd played it before, when I got my Panther. And have wanted it, ever since. I was side tracked by a lovely Bullet TM4 but the California won out. It's just superb.
It was specced to evoke the spirit of an early 70′s vintage Jazz but with all that extra, Sandberg quality. Alder body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard and Delano pickups. All put together in their special way.
