Just curious, as I know it's different for everyone, but why do you love your Sandberg? I started a new thread for your replys. Should be a fun reading

To match my MarloweDK I have just snagged a VS4 passive.
I know no pics no bass, but here they are as separates until they are united.
Congrats Cuzzie, appreciate the pic. Do you love the setup or will you need to change anything out?
Not got my hands on the VS4 yet so will let you know.
It's a second hand bass (really good price) and he has labella flats on it. I have been playing exclusively rounds till now and have DR DDT mediums on the MarloweDK which I really like.
I also got the DK second hand and the guy I got it from had a set up not too my liking, he did slap a lot and had super slinky thins on, and it was too rattle-eee for me, now it's brilliant.
I'll play it first and then see if my luthier needs to get busy as I have a reference point, but I may enjoy flats and be able to go old school P, although I pretty much play with a pick.
Either way, very excited and will picture them side by side for y'all

Orignally it was down as a VM4 so I passed over it, then I emailed the guy (great guy by the way) on whether it had any masterpiece treatment with the soft relic.
Initially I wanted the whole thing, but then I got over myself and thought, you know what, just play the damn thing and that vibrates it enough!
I had a discussion with a sandberg on Facebook and they actually talked me out of the vibration and heat treatment as I was wondering if they would do one or the other on any bass retrospectively. The answer is no, and he just said re vibration, once it leaves the factory and you play it, best way to wear it in, their vibration accelrates that breaking in time, that's all.
The heat treatment has to be on bare wood.

I was looking at V or T M's to compliment my MarloweDK, but (I know it's bad to say without playing it) universally the only slightly not 100% thing I have heard about Sandberg's is the M pick up, maybe not being quite 'Ray' enough, not that it's a bad thing!
Really happy though to now have 2 simple passive basses as it was in the beginning, I enjoyed my ride with G&L massive humbuckers, they are great guitars, by a Sandberg is just more refined.....

That's great info mate ref the vibration and heat treatment. All of my 4 Sandberg's were bought used so all have had some play time. As a new bass player but long time guitarist I was drawn to Sandberg basses due to them being easy to get on with, they don't feel too stiff like some basses I've played... they are quite soft if you like. Also the build quality has impressed me, all very very good. My Roquefort basses are both hardcore aged and have that wonderful played in feel, both active and sound great to my ears. For me the TT is my favourite, but the VM is so easy to play it's unbelievable. As I have never had any other basses I don't have any real reference points, so my views may well be somewhat biased. Regarding the M pick up in the VM, I like it because it hasn't got that really massive Musicman sound, it retains clarity and definition. However, my least played bass is the VS but I've really been enjoying it over the last few weeks. It's simple and minimalistic nature is just liberating ..... very easy to pick up and play. I'm just trying to fine tune the action as it's not quite there yet, it's a little buzzy so I'm just tweaking the neck relief and string height bit by bit. I may try and get it to a luthier at some point.
Anyway, enough of my ramblings, congrats on both of those basses.... I would love to try an DK and I'm sure I would have to have it... ha ha. I look forward to your review and comparisons .... when should you get it?

My best buddy has just got a TT Roquefort masterpiece, he is in lurve!
Are yours the Delano or the Sandberg pick ups?
I think the Delano's are very hi fi shimmery and Sandberg's a bit warmer. Both great bits of kit.
I have been lucky with basses from a couple of fenders through G&Ls, G&Ls are especially well made, but the Sandy's are something else, look, feel and balance. I looked at them a couple of years ago, and did nothing but I am glad I waited and played others as I really appreciate them now.
I heard that about the M pick up giving clarity, but with my couple of pedals and amp I think I should be clear enough to hammer through.
The DK is a great bass, neck slightly thinner than a TT and the bridge pick up is 11mm closer to the bridge and it gives it just a little more bite. The tonal variation on where on the bass you play it and also how you balance the pick ups is just a wonder, and the tone roll off is really deep.
If you get your hands on one, it will be bass number 4!
Colour is often black or red, but if you have 9 months to wait and the cash, you can get it in Roquefort, and it will be different from your TT as they relic it in a different way, vibration is thrown in!

Ha.... it will be bass #5.... or may be 6 because I keep on looking at The 48's!!! I do have a fantastic blue Ken Taylor too, a different beast altogher but still a beast non the less.
My TT has Delano's and I have no reason to swap them out, they retain the same sound when switched to passive too. As I said earlier I cannot really give you any ref points as I haven't owned any other basses.
