Get a DG

I have one and it is awesome

Mesa will give you huge bottom end and less refinement, but it may suit your music style.
DG will do that (tho not as thick) and more, clean is a dream, it doesn't just do dirt. The Sandberg's will love you for it

I have recently paired it with a Two Notes Le bass and Cali76 G and it's awesome!

Yeah I'm leaning towards the DG as I recently picked up a B3K to try their sound and I really like it. Im running it through an older Eden WT550 or 330 with either an Eden 1 x 12 or Epifani UL310. I do like my Eden stuff but that M900 is making me crazy! Ha ha

No contest.

I had a b7k and a VMT pedal (amongst others) and I jacked them in once I got the DG amp, interestingly I thought I would have preferred the VMT circuit but the b3K is better and cleaner and sounds really quite vintage, VMT a bit fuzzy and dark for my tastes. If I want floppy fuzz I dial in the Geranium transistor on my Cali

The EQ section is a dream, it really is.
I am running it into a Barefaced Supertwin and it covers all ground.
Best thing is you can flick a switch and effectively run it at less than 500W for smaller cabs.
Very happy bunny, if I was any good the gear I have would make me a super star

No hate here mate, that's a great deal and I'm always happy to hear or read when folk get great genuine deals without the need to lowball others Was that from Thomann by any chance?

It seems that although I haven't been playing bass long I have similar tastes to you! The other basses I've always loved are G&Ls... I have had some great guitars (had 4 Legacys and an ASAT but had to scale back on my gear) but still have a cracking early Legacy.

It was eBay again

Someone got it from Thomann and essentially made a quick profit selling it to me, everyone is happy.

I had 2 ASAT basses, one semi hollow and a L1500, great basses, not a Berg though

I recently purchased second hand this lovely TSBS, to keep my Blackburst TM5 company. I'd been hunting for a passive TT for quite a while and when this came up I had to jump on it.

It's quickly become my favourite bass... featherlight, incredible tone that cuts through the mix, beautifully balanced and looks to die for. It's my first 'aged' bass, but I really love the fact that I don't feel the need to be quite so precious about it... it's already got about all the hardcore ageing it will ever get, but it certainly doesn't matter if I ding it up some more!

I've heard very little chatter about these beauties online, and now that I've got one I'm quite surprised about this. The Rocquefort Blue is a custom colour from the standard Torsten Scholtz's Letterbox Yellow, and I believe only one or two were made like this. Anybody else here got one? I'd love to hear your opinions!

Here's the TM5. I've got most of my gigging needs covered these days... very happy with both of them.

@Juan Lauda forgeous basses, and yep a bit far away!
But you should get a fair idea comparing the neck pick ups on your TSBS vs TM on Delano vs SD.
I think the bridge is ever so slightly different, maybe not as much as the MarloweDK.

You could of course swap out the pick ups if you can borrow a set and AB it to see what you like?!

VS4 arrived today (pics will follow) fully passive, Sandberg pup, all I can say is Wow.

It's a monster, no pedals needed for this bunny (apart from my Cali76-G) it's straight up bass and I love it.

I'm gonna say it now and I don't care who reads, you need no other bass than a Sandberg, period, end of....

Happy bunny!

Awesome bud, glad it arrived safe. I must admit, I really don't see any need to look outside of Sandberg but you should never say never..... lol.

I do see a Forty Eight in my future at some point.... it's gonna be a while though as I want the new amp first.

Juan Lauda.... nice choices indeed. Rocquefort is my favourite colour hence me having both the TT and the VM. I really like the matching headstock on yours, very cool. The one thing that stopped me looking for a masterpiece was the ageing to the neck, I just cannot deal with dings and divots on the neck.

It's great to see that Sandbergs name is getting around although the bad news is that the bargains will soon disappear. I got all 4 of mine for under £3000 which I think is pretty darn good.

Thanks DJ. It really is a stunning colour. The TSBS model is Hardcore Aged - not Masterpiece - so the neck and frets are in pristine condition although all the metalwork has the aged treatment. Another feature of this model is that the bridge has a string-through option so I've been loading the strings through the back of the body.
Are you saying you got all four of your Sandbergs for a combined total of under £3000? That would have to be the bargain of the century!

What a gorgeous pair, Cuzzie! Your VS4 appears to have the new headstock shape with the original body shape... nice!

Juan, yes the total was just under £3000.
I never noticed yours being a string through, have you tried to compare any sound differences?

Cuzzie... I just noticed that your VS has a newer high mass bridge where as mine has an old style Fender type bridge. I don't think I've ever seen another Sandberg with an old style bridge.

If you buy one from spec you can pretty much get any combo, so some people do have an old style bridge.

There was a sandberg TT4 on sale on Basschat which was an old bridge but recently made with Kloppman pic ups as well.
